Meant to post this yesterday, 2.2 kg Gammon joints at £5 instead of £10. Stickered at £10 but shelf price says £5 and confirmed with staff member.

Paid 8 for a 1.2kg for the butchers on Saturday. But you can't beat quality and support your local butchers instead of a multinational that can't count

If and a big IF your local butcher is indeed local. Most tend to buy from wholesellers, the same as supermarkets, so same stuff but more expensive. Very few truly local butchers left about!

me too Joanne570 - all done yesterday and pretty quiet in the shops

I picked up a smoked one yesterday and sell by date was 12 Jan, so not bad for £5.

Also picked up one for a fiver from Tesco yesterday. Cooking it as I type this. Smells good.
Laughed at the ' local butcher is best' comment. Rich people sometimes are the biggest mugs when it comes to paying over the odds for things!

haha, yes - ours is in the pan with some cola at the moment too. I wasn't sure if the smoked one was the same weight or not so didn't include that but will amend if it is?

they were all reduced with the stickersx in the great notley branch, long dates to 12th january

Tesco is a British company and keeps a lot of people in employment. If you were to say go to the butchers rather than Aldi then I would agree, Aldi function on minimum staff levels and there expansion will close a lot of local retailers providing very little in terms of employment numbers compared to a Tesco.
