Tesco weekly coupons for money off a £40 etc spend glitch. Accepts all the coupons in one go! at tesco

Found 6th May 2013
just been to do my weekly grocery shop with the vouchers that tescos have recently sent to all their clubcard customers giving them money off a £20 or £40 spend etc each week. mine were for £4 off a £40 spend each week. As I was getting week 1s coupon ready to scan at the self service till, I accidently scanned the last weeks coupon, so I scanned week ones anyway and it accepted that one too. I scanned £24 of vouchers.

Nice one. I've wasted £13 vouchers before and I will try that in the future. Nothing ventured ...

I have been a member for years, and not received these codes.
Care to share,

I threw away the expired coupons damn!!

Think OP is talking about physical vouchers to take in store, clubcard customers normally get them in the post

Nauty but nice

Wish I got them off a £40 spend, I need to spend £60

they know where u live

anyone can confirm

This is going to get hot soon. Just wait.

Just be careful as the self service tills occasionally ask a member of staff to verify them if you put through too many. Not that they are really bothered though lol

Anyone else receiving an error when accessing 'clubcard rewards', through the Tesco sit?

I didn't receive any coupons though a member. Where and how??

You get them when you spend in store, I always chuck them as I do my shopping online & never spend enough in store

hmmmm

The codes can be used online, don't hoy them out!

just received 6 and it clearly states on store use only and can not be used with helping hand coupon. So there must be more of these to come in the next few weeks.

We've not received anything vouchers from Tesco either. :-(

Only coupons I received in post to use in store was spend £60 and get £6 off. X

I have got 6x £2 off £20 spend

With self scan do you do the coupons at the end when you are paying, I have never done a self-scan checkout as I assumed the vouchers wouldn't work...

Just tried and all mine went through ok

Yes. Vouchers go through at the end when you have finished scanning your items. We done the self scan as you walk around the supermarket. (With the handheld scanner) and then just scan the coupons through at the end of the shop.

Brilliant. How much did you get off your shop in total?

I had a small booklet come through a few weeks ago and even though it had printed on them you couldn't use with helping hand vouchers, they scanned fine even with a normal till. It must be linked to your spending on your clubcard somehow, as I often get the same with nectar/sainsburys with so much off a £40/£50/£60 spend each week. Never tried them after they expired though so will do next time! Thanks

Might try this tomorrow but I reckon they'll have cottoned on by then :-(

Yep - Tesco are feeling generous lately. Just received my 2nd lot of vouchers through the post, valid or in-store & online too. Best one so far is £9 off a £60 spend !! Combined that with the recent £5 off £40 spend that I still had to use means I had £14 off this weekends shopping bill ! Thanks Tesco

Midnight shop tonight it is then. Hoping mine stack up to £19 off £30.

Mine came with a £12 off £80 spend and the rest 5 x £8 off £80 spend

They must think I'm loaded

Tried this in my local an hour ago but the self service checkout didn't accept my 2nd £2 off £20 spend coupon that I received the other day... Not sure if it is only working with £4 off £40 spend as detailed by the OP...

any proof of recipt OP ??

£6 off £40 for me, and several £4 off £40.

Their computers have obviously spotted we've more or less stopped shopping at Tesco - 10% off isn't going to be enough to get me back, though - given that the same or better food in the Aldi next door costs around 25-30% less than in Tesco.

Does this also work for an online shop?

Blimey we have a total of £32 off £50 if this works out....

For me it's call stealing.

fingers crossed this still works tomorrow

I think you'll find that it's probably nearer Fraud actually. And that's stretching it too.

Personally, I have no great issue with trying to get a few extra quid off a huge company who have no scruples and morals.

I wouldn't do it with anything they can link back to you, they'll track you down. Anyone remember this

how is it stealing?! lol. you use the money off in one go rather than over 6 weeks. using the money in one go, and using it again over 6 weeks would be stealing. sighhhhhh

Damn threw my expired one away!A nice lady gave me her £3 off a £20 shop last week when I was paying, and the cashier still put through my £5 off £40 spend! So £8 off £65 shop. The checkout operators at my local Tesco don't mind stacking vouchers:-)

So we went to our Tesco...and self scan was switched off - do they read this forum?!

Also they were closing at 6 cos of the bank holiday which we weren't expecting which meant all the whoopsies were gone when we were there at 5.45. Then to add insult to injury the check out operator spotted that the end of line marked down TV didn't scan at the reduced price thus preventing the DTD attempt
