FairPlay to that texaco garage! It annoys the hell out of me that oil companies say they buy their fuel 6-9 months in advance yet the smallest rise in crude prices is passed onto drivers within a couple of days! When the price of crude drops like a stone the price on the forecourt rarely moves for weeks or even months!!
They should be paying us to use it? It costs more for them to store it.

Fuel duty and the VAT you pay on it will cost you (approx) 70p per litre before you've paid anything for the fuel itself. Even if the fuel was free, you'd pay 70p per litre.

That’s for the cost of a barrel of oil. However there is still a process of distillation in order to make petrol ,that costs money.

Heat. About right according to the AA, if only sellers would follow.

It still costs more to store it on a tanker than it does to distill it. What's your point.?

Shell was 117.9p in Greater London yesterday
Thanks will take a drive out to top up
I know that particular garage well and they have always been the lowest priced in the area. I believe they're a family owned business so best of luck to them, pity they're so far now!
1.02 at my local Asda garage.....London/Charlton.....
Wonder if Costco lowers their price from 99.9p...

This is a misunderstanding of how the oil market works for many reasons (May oil futures contracts went negative, not spot prices, the price of petrol isn’t directly linked to the price of crude oil etc.).

Then there’s Fuel duty at ~60p, and 20% vat too.
Little garage at Terrington,6 miles from King's Lynn 139.9/142.9 yesterday.Kings Lynn prices 102.9/108.9.
They probably filled their tanks up 2 years ago and it hasn't moved since!
in some EU countries diesel reached €0.79 per litre lol

Hate Texaco. Always the most expensive garage in our area by quite a substantial amount! JOKE

Do you plan on filling your car with crude oil? You're ignoring the refining costs, transportation etc etc.

I also find the quality of their fuel to be abysmal too.
Think Richer Sounds will price beat by 20p?
Edited by: "StewieEatWorld" 24th Apr
really surprised that wholesale oil prices have transferred to fuel prices - the petrochem companies dont usually follow through quickly ! its all good shame I havent used a gallon of petrol in the last 2-3 months !

Their regular fuel will be pretty much the same as everyone elses. It usually comes from the same tanks as all the other companies, and additives in regular fuel are minimal.

I'm fully aware we pay for are fuel 3 mouths in advance but will it come down in 3 mouths time I don't think so in fact I'm sure it will be alot more taxed to pay us all out of debt that we're drowning in at the moment. And we don't pay fuel duty on North Sea oil only imported you cant import duty on anything that's produced in the UK.
Hold off. This will be much, much cheaper over the coming weeks.
Wow scorching price for unleaded!
It says premium unleaded - is it just standard RON or is it 97/99? Ta.
