thanks for sharing, i've added a pic to your deal

Thanks. Even if these aren't top quality they are great for late xmas gifts and I'm sure they will do just fine for a little poker night. Great price, reserved a couple.

Thanks For The Pic!

Thank you

This is cheap for this product (and I owned a set myself) but I wouldn't bother, they are not numbered chips nor have they any weight to them. If you're a poker addict like myself save up and buy this set from the Sportshq. They have a far better feel to them. BTW you can mix and match what numbers you need and I also think there is quidco to the purchase (I own this set BTW)

I can't thank you enough for sharing this. I was looking for this one for past two months and it was on £8 and I always thought that it was above my budget. Reserved one in Birmingham now and will be collecting tomorrow. Voted Super Hot. Next step, find someone to play poker with me

Wow I would love to hole em in Texas

And for anyone who criticises my post I can honestly say you're just a good to use matchsticks.

If you've ever played poker with proper chips then you will know how inferior these feel. The set I gave may cost 10x as much but they are pretty cheap for what the quality. Trust me, if you're playing with friends then it means a lot.

AWESOME! very cheap too!

Had this set and it is indeed not the best quality. That said for 3.99 you can't go wrong - they are good enough for 99% of casual poker players - Pros wont like the feel (And can afford to spend more)

agree with glentoran, the chips are awful quality and 200 isn't a huge number. if you're just having an occasional game for a laugh with a small number of people then fair enough, but i'd say just shop around for a 500 chip set at a decent weight for 20-25

Bought today, chips are chips, I've played with the same set for years and nobody' I've ever played with has ever once commented on the weight or 'feel'.

I'm sure people look at every deal on this website and think of ways to try and put it down.

Either way, it's a reduced item which is widely available (every store in Manchester at least) so clearly a hot deal.

Nice, might pick one up tomorrow.

That might be the case for some deals, but what Jasey said is perfectly right imo.

I owned what looks to be the exact same set about 12 years ago, and reviewed it on the amazon site saying how good value for money it was at the time for £10. It's perfectly fine for a casual game, or carrying about.

However, I used to play poker once a week with a bunch of mates for about 10 years after that, and I was glad when I eventually spent a bit more on a bigger set of thicker, weightier clay chips, they just felt much better to handle and riffle and made a more satisfying sound too. Well, each to their own I guess on that front The same goes for the plastic coated cards that I expect you get with this set, sure they are fine to play a few games with, but if you tend to play more regularly it's absolutely worth spending a few more quid on some 100% plastic cards such as kems or copags.

If you are after a cheap set you get you started, then at £3.99, this is certainly a bargain.

Does the item you receive look like the picture on the website? i.e. same box and items?

Yes.

It's still crap though

All those calling it crap, get over it.
It is not meant for pros. See the price tag. It is 3.99 only. No one is expecting world class quality. The bottom line is that this deal is brilliant as the price is cheapest around. So stop crying about quality.

Reserved for a late Christmas gift they won't mind because we are exchanging late gifts since we've not been able to see each other lately

Nice starter/newbie set, as stated above if you play a lot of poker like myself included your better of investing in something of better quality. The cards in this are shockingly bad quality and bend really easily and crease!, the chips are also very light and cheaply made too. Never the less still a great late present or gift

I'm sorry but I've owned this set and binned it and also bought the £30 set. No comparison.

Play with matches if you can't afford the £30.

Get over it man. Don't buy it if you don't like it. I can see that you've mentioned matches a few times. Looks like you've got a lot of experience. Lol! Why do I need to waste £30 when I can have a perfectly good set for £4. Fantastic price for a beginner set. Hot hot hot

No - Thinner Rectangle box barely bigger than the chip holder.

OK, you've made your point (several times). How about giving it a rest now.

Buy Buy Buy, bye bye

Gl Texas Holdem fans, I love the game

Thanks for sharing this!!! got a few

I got this as a pressie about two years ago, and after taking it out of the box realised one thing: the chips have no values on them. So you have to designate the values to colours themselves, and after a few beers, you get people forgetting how much they are etc. Kind of rubbish really if you are wanting a serious game, but for beginners, can't really go wrong for the value.

To be fair I would say the opposite. We always used unmarked chips for our game, which means if we wanted to have a cash game one week or tournaments of varying lengths and blind structure we could change things up with ease, and not really be tied to any numbers printed on them, and while anyone new to the game might ask a couple of times as they got used to it, it was never really a problem. One place I used to play only once a month would have a simple printed A4 piece of paper with the chip values on, or if you are running a tournament and have some software, they usually have an option for you to put in the chip colours/values.

this, i'd never buy a set with values marked on them

Picked two of these sets up today. They weren't identical to the phot on the website/catalogue, and they informed me this at the till. However contents were identical. A bargain really, for those who want to have just a bit of fun and learn poker etc. I would love to own a pro set, with heavy chips etc in time.

I take whatever I said back. Picked up one set in store today and I can confirm that these are really crap. In fact I would have been better off playing with match stick. I should have listened to other commenting on this. Not even worth 4 Gbp. Tin case is already de shaped and the finishing on chips is so bad that it has given a cut on my left hand. So, I take everything I said back.

Looks good to me ordered 2 sets for very occasional use with the boyz.....

I just got mine and it is fantastic. it is very good quality and comes with a big green cloth thing to play it on and two packs of cards. excellent value for the occasional user

This is a Hot UK Deal in a Hot UK Deal world.

Bought these last night, going straight back colour comes off the chips all over your hands not worth 4p. (_;)
