Well not really, considering that there's no luggage included. Thai Airways have £554 to Bangkok return for the same dates.

This is a return flight so hardly compares

been travelling here for years and lived here for a year the flight is really cheap so heat added but phuket is a dump and over priced be prepared to get ripped off everywhere you go even the tuk tuk rides just up the street cost more than a taxi in london.

phuket is the number one place to avoid, would rather stay in pattaya and thats just as bad.

Bargain, you can do 14 nights for only a tenner more and spend Xmas there. Would be up for it, but Phuket is a dump, I've never been, and never would; the sh*t-hole of Thailand. If this was to the main airport, so I could get to Koh Tao easily, I'd be well up for it.

thai airways are not that great these days all middle eastern carriers are way better Emirates , Etihad , etc but they do stop over for 1.50 minutes or longer.
best direct airline in my opinion is eva airways sometimes they pop up cheap but not this cheap.

You would still need a flight from Bkk. I assume this is straight to Phuket??

I voted hot but 8 nights in Thailand really isn't enough.

went to phuket 15 years ago and 8 certainly wasn't a dump. stayed in allamanda in laguna phuket. great place. If you think phuket is dump then so is the rest of the world. never got ripped when I was there, maybe you are very money say or decent negotiator. lots of my friends have been there and had no problems either

never flew directly to phuket (as i like to avoid it ) but I'm guessing you would need to catch a flight from Bangkok takes about 45-50 minutes costing from £50 up return with Air Asia depending if you book in advance. as i said this is a super hot deal for the flight and if you like Phuket

Thai are better than Thomson though to be fair.

I think the stopover thing has its pluses and minuses. I'd probably opt for a one-stop on Qatar/Emirates over Thomson direct though. Obviously if you are saving £200 a head by going on Thomson that's fair enough though!

Like anywhere my advice is always be careful in areas of high unemployment. Lots of beach vendors have been thrown out of work. You would think this would lower prices but sometimes it does the opposite.

Emirates, Etihad, and Qatar all fly direct from the Middle East to Phuket. No stop in Bangkok.

Or you can one-stops on Malaysia/Thai/Singapore. And maybe a codeshare on BA via Bangkok and Bangkok Airways.

That's more like it. Although I'd say at least 3 weeks would be best.

Doha airport is a bit of a **** hole, I would want to spend another few hours there again. Perhaps I'm being harsh on the place.

Yeah I agree. We are going for 3 weeks. I nearly booked this Phuket flight week ago, but I wanted 3 weeks and to return after new year. We paid £725, to Indonesia, which is considerably more, but as Indonesia was where we wanted to go, and the Phuket-Indonesia flight would have been another £200, taking this to almost £600 when you take into account baggage fees it didn't work for us.

Great deal for someone though.

I agree that Phuket is a bit of a ****, but still nice food and sunshine. We went to Ko Phi Phi a decade ago, where they filmned the beach. I'm assuming it's even more of a tourist trap now. There is also Koh Lanta, and Krabi, neither of which I've been to, but I believe both less spoiled.

Great price but Phuket isn't what it used to be.

There are different areas of Phuket, some not as seedy as others and some of the tours from Phuket are amazing (we did the sea kayaking from there). A few nights there was fine for us, another few nights on Phi Phi which was pretty lively, another few nights on Ko Yao Noi which was a real unspoiled place, so chilled out, another few nights in Krabi (Railay). It was all great around the Andaman coast but I must say I much preferred the week we spent up in Chiang Mai (internal flight required - not expensive), so much to do and so much culture.

This for what it is though, is a great deal, considering some would spend the same amount on a holiday to Center Parcs

Just be careful with the girls there, they can be real pain in the a**.
