I registered my intrest and when i got to the booking page i was offered a deal of 5 hours for £86.00 brilliant!

Doesn't seem that great, first hour is spent sitting in the car looking at the wheel.
Driving schools round my way are doing first 5 hours for 60 notes.

Also smells of spam to me.

If anything that makes this a better deal. Why would you spend more if you were going to sitting down and doing nothing?

But how much are hours 3, 4 and 5?

As soon as you start driving, the price goes up doesn't it.

I know which is better.

The cost of driving lessons vary from city to city and from instructor to instructor. I think its a brilliant offer from a nation-wide driving school

So how long have you been an instructor for the AA?

Shame you have to spam rather than create business from the traditional word of mouth that most good instructors rely on. Business should pick up after Crimbo anyways (as long as it doesn't snow).

Thanks very much for the welcome

I personally think this is a good deal - my OH is learning to drive and instructors in our area (NW London) charge £20 p/h! So great deal for a national school.

if anyone knows cheaper in the area then would appreciate the contact details pls

Driving instruction should not be considered on price, but real value for money.

Cheap instruction is usually cheap for a very good reason.

Ask the AA which ADI Grade the instructor holds, 6 is best, lower is worse.

Spot on Inactive!

Alot of these instructor schools have instructors in training too.

Give me a private reliable instructor with a good track record and plenty of recommendations anyday over these.

As purely a price comparision Bill Plant gives the first lesson free or
•5 hours for £56
•10 Hours manual lessons (including 5 for £56) is £165.75

Please note I do not know or work for the afore mentioned Bill Plant, nor am I myself actually Bill Plant.

When I was learning, my lessons were £24 for 50-55 minutes.

But the instructor was good and I probably would have had lots more lessons with another, cheaper instructor, which could have made them just as expensive.

Under a grade 6... i lol! there are very few 6 grades out there.
try looking at AA's there after prices... joke

As others mentioned here to, look for a green licence not pink on your driving school car.
