A bargain from The Works (available in store too). Currently on Amazon for £12.91. Blurb from there: Award-winning football writer Jonathan Wilson selects ten landmark matches from Manchester United's history, from the first time they lifted the FA Cup, beating Bristol City in 1909, to the Cup victory of 2016 that proved to be Louis van Gaal's last game in charge. In doing so, he identifies the pivotal moments in the club's rise to being one of the foremost teams of the twentieth century.

Good point. Maybe the Dennis Law back heel for Man City that relegated Man United could be in

But denis law back heel didn't relegate united, but stay in your own dream world if it makes you happy

As other scores and results meant Man United were relegated anyway you have a point; Dennis Law though at the time, didn't know that (he was involved in a football match) and he believed his goal was relegating Man United. Still, it remains one of the finest moments in footballing history, a discarded Man United player scoring the goal that he believed relegated Man United whilst wearing a Man City shirt. Not so much a dream world, a reality. And one that he'll always be remembered for. And the man himself ....

“I just felt depressed, and that wasn’t like me. After 19 years of trying my hardest to score goals, here was one that I almost wished hadn’t actually gone in. I was inconsolable. I didn’t want it to happen. “How long did the feeling last? How long ago was the game? Thirty-odd years. There is your answer. “The subject always crops up. It’s one of those things. It’s always there and I am always remembered for it. “That’s a shame.”

Ah so now we backtrack, its now not the goal that relegated united, its the goal that he thought relegated united. Sorry that is not the same and doesn't mean the same

At least it found a bit of love somewhere. I think I failed to take into account the polarising nature of football...
