The wife said there were some funny bits but its set in grey dreary weather and is not really an uplifting film to watch in the summer months. I liked them both in a film called In Bruges

This is by the same director as In Bruges and it's the same kind of pitch-black comedy.

One of the best films of last year and another banger from McDonagh. Some negative nellies in here this morning

Best film of the decade by a country mile: superb acting, screenplay, editing, music, cinematography. Father Ted meets Sophocles meets Samuel Becket. Outstanding.

Agreed. Horribly overrated depressingly dreadful ‘comedy’

Horrible film that confirms my theory that most films that win an award are boring artsy films that are best avoided (edited)

Each to their own - I didn't enjoy it.

Amazing film with quite deep philosophical messages. Films don't need to be exciting to be worthy of praise. Some movies are there purely to entertain and there's nothing wrong with that. But equally, some films are there to make you think. This is definitely one that has stayed with me since I first saw it

Wierdest film I've sat through since "Eraserhead"

Seriously?! This isn't even the weirdest film of last year, let alone since 1977. It's not even close to the weirdness of Eraserhead, compared to that this is like a chuffing Pixar movie
