THE BATTLEFIELDS OF THE FIRST WORLD WAR:
The Battlefields of the First World War provides a revelatory and unique collection of panoramic photographs that cover the entire British sector of the Western Front. Interspersed with individual photographs and recollections of the soldiers caught in action, it is a highly poignant read as we approach the centenary of the beginning of WWI, that also comes with a free DVD-ROM that includes 60 extra panoramas of the battlefields.

Previously marked top secret and for the eyes of the commanding officer only, the panoramic photographs reveal what no others can, with everything from waiting snipers to soldiers picking lice from shirts easily identifiable. Many of the desolate images show no evidence of war at all, but the the horrific battles of Somme and Passchendaele are covered too, giving a first-hand account of the darkness of war.

FORGOTTEN VOICES COLLECTION - INCLUDES 8 PAPERBACK BOOKS AS FOLLOWS:

Moving and sometimes almost unbelievable, this stunning collection of real-life stories recalls momentous happenings from some of the most startling experiences of Britons at war. Forgotten Voices features men and women who speak with honest fear, determination, bewilderment, indifference and unmistakable courage, as they recount their experiences from events such as the Battle of the Somme, the D-Day Landings, Dunkirk and other times from The Great War and World War II.

A remarkable and definitive series of startling oral history, praised by the likes of Stephen Fry, told in the words by the extraordinary people who witnessed it all. Exciting and harrowing, this is a must-read collection that non-fiction and history enthusiasts will be gripped by.

Have just ordered the multi-buy offer and for some unknown reason when I added both to the basket the total comes up at £17 rather than £20 as advertised....have not entered any discount codes so no idea why. The Forgotten Voices Collection shows in basket at £2 rather than £5 as it should be with the offer....not sure how long this will last as it is obviously some type of glitch so will leave price as above.

Yep, just got this for £17 delivered too. Heat added for a very poignant and interesting collection of literature at a great price. Thanks.

You are most welcome...glad the £17 price is holding at the moment...thought it was a good buy at £20...but even better at £17....and even better if you go through quidco as they have increased cashback rate of 5% at the moment and a 10% off code for orders over £40 (AFFANCY) which expires at end of today.

Code AFFANCY has now expired
