New CD from a hotly tipped popular beat combo from Liverpool. They sound a bit over-rated if you ask me, but the kids seem to think they are the next big thing.

The new Abbey Road release features the new stereo album mix, sourced directly from the original eight-track session tapes. To produce the mix, Giles Martin working with Sam Okell, was guided by the album’s original stereo mix supervised by his father, George Martin.

I bought the 2CD version last week. Well worth getting as the second CD is the whole album again, but done with outtakes and demos, and it's really good amazon.co.uk/Abb…2F/

Heat, I paid a tenner for the CD version in the late 90's. Does this come with autorip?

Sorry need to clarify my comments reviews not of the band as they are my favourite band just of the sound which many are saying it's not as good as the original cd which I already own.

Got the 'Super Deluxe Edition' - the Dolby Atmos Mix is superb
Some of the reviews are for a vinyl picture disc not the CD but it doesn't look like a good release.

No, when my copy landed I expected to be able to download the rip but it wasn't there; had to rip it via my laptop and an external CD player.
huge disappontment after the white album remix sounds flat was expecting something special but have to say the original sounds more punchy think thats why they are selling it off cheap love to hear the 5.1 version but it has a hefty price tag sop far

...how come this is a deal if it's not the deluxe 2 CD version?..isn't this the normal price for the 1 CD version?
I’d like the 2 disc version as a download. I mean I havnt even seen a CD player since the 90’s

..a download can't compare to CD quality unless it's in an uncompressed lossless format like FLAC or ALAC (Apple Lossless).

Weird how some of The Beatles albums have autorip and some dont. Must be a copyright thing
Be nice to see Revolver and Rubber Soul get a new remix too.

Lots of people are saying this version wasn't necessary as the original was recorded in stereo and on an 8 track.

Think it sounds great compared to my original album. Gives it a breath of fresh air and a chance for a younger generation to experience a superb band

When I got the 2CD Sgt Peppers and the 3CD White Album they 100% came with AutoRip. I just assumed it would be the same for Abbey Road. No biggie at the end of the day as I ripped it.
It is available on Amazon Music music.amazon.co.uk/art…les so odd this purchase didn't come with the download.

Yep, would love 2CD versions of these with outtakes, demos etc.
Did you see that Let It Be (the film) is finally getting a general release (to coincide with the Peter Jackson Beatles film)?

It's wonderful to be here,
It's certainly a thrill
You're such a lovely audience,
We'd like to take you home with us, we'd love to take you home
It's number 1 on the album charts, knocked Liam Gallagher off top spot

And - 'The feat also sees the album set a record - the gap of 49 years and 252 days since its initial chart-topping run ended in early 1970 is the longest gap before returning to number one.' from BBC website.

They already did a pretty much perfect job with the 2009 remasters which engineers worked on for years. I think this is just a case of changing the mix a bit to sell it again.

You're Tony Blackburn, aren't you?
Yeah, but will they be as big as the Spice Girls?
A warm up act for the Rolling Stones at best, they were mainly popular with young teenage girls.
..joys of having a modern no cd stereo in the car!

You obviously haven't heard songs like 'tomorrow never knows' 'I am the walrus' 'a day in the life' 'strawberry fields' have you? teenage girls wouldn't in a billion years like them songs. Rolling Stones are a blues band. Beatles covered every genre of music of that time period. A warm up act??! Lol. The Stones first big hit was written by Lennon/McCartney.
Are Agadoo and shaddupayourface on this ?
Was given the deluxe version at Abbey Road Studios last week after listening to the Dolby Atmos version. Or actually a very limited version of it.

Have the Dolby Atmos version in the car and it sounds fabulous.

Wasn't even a fan before.

I absolutely love the Beatles the comment was not about the album but about the quality of the sound and as I do not own this new album I am merely pointing out that some of the reviews are pointing this out. I already own the original album and some of the reviews are pointing out that the original is better. Don't know where you get the negativity from I am just pointing out that maybe you should read some of the reviews before you buy it. They are not reviews about the band but the quality of the sound reproduction.
Doesn't matter as the real Paul McCartney wasn't playing on the album anyway, he died several years earlier in a car crash and the person standing in for Paul was Billy Shears ........

Not by the time Abbey Road came out.

"The Beatles are regarded as the most influential band of all time. Their fans were predominately young adolescent females, sometimes called "teenyboppers", but came to include listeners who traditionally shunned youth-driven pop culture, which helped bridge divisions between folk and rock enthusiasts. In succeeding decades, the receptions of other acts – particularly boy bands – have drawn comparisons to Beatlemania. None, however, have replicated the breadth and depth of the Beatles' fandom. As of 2009, they remained the best-selling band in history, with estimated sales of over 600 million records worldwide."

"Towards the end of 1966, by which point the Beatles' artistic maturity had left many younger listeners yearning for their innocent, "mop-top" image, the Monkees were assembled by a pair of Hollywood-based television executives as a four-piece band in the Beatles' mould. An immediate commercial success, the Monkees' self-titled television show evoked the Beatles' personalities from Dick Lester's feature films A Hard Day's Night and Help!, with the characters of the individual Monkees developed to reflect those of the Beatles. At this time, the Beatles grew moustaches, a look that defied pop convention by implying maturation and artistry over youthfulness. Their appearance was the source of confusion for some of their young fans. A Daily Mail writer complained that after emerging as "heroes of a social revolution" in 1963 and "the boys whom everybody could identify with", the Beatles had become austere and exclusive"

1966 would be the year Revolver was released.

So their shaking off of their teenage girls only fanbase was done by about the middle of the Beatles album releases, before Sgt Pepper, before Magical Mystery Tour and well before Abbey Road or Let it Be.

Stick to the 2009 remaster. It sounds better than this. The outtakes are worthless.
Standard price isn’t it? £7 in Morrisons too

I thought the outtakes were / are mostly brilliant. Interesting, curious and fascinating insight into the last album recorded by the greatest band that ever was and ever will be.
