THE BIG DINOSAUR BOX: A Special Four-Disc WALKING WITH DINOSAURS Collection.

* Walking with Dinosaurs

Imagine you could witness a prehistoric sunset - imagine you are watching insectivorous pterosaurs chase moths in the moist evening air and bull triceratops lock horns over a young female. This is no longer a dream.

Walking With Dinosaurs makes that distant world as real and natural as images from today's Serengeti. Tracing the 160 million-year history of dinosaurs, from their first appearance to their abrupt demise, this series marks a watershed in television imagery.

Classic natural history techniques, leading edge computer technology and animatronics combined with the latest scientific findings,. recreate the sights and sounds of an endlessly fascinating era. Walking With Dinosaurs brings to life the mystery and excitement of the age when these reptiles roamed our planet.

* The Ballad of Big Al:

The creators of the Walking With Dinosaurs series that took the world by storm have returned to tell the story
of Big Al.

A few years ago, an amazing fossil was unearthed in Wyoming, USA. Not only were the bones they found those of a dinosaur tat lived 145 million years ago, the skeleton of this creature was very nearly complete.

Now the scientists' find has been resurrected even more vividly as the BBC uses the same computer graphic and animatronics techniques as the original Walking With Dinosaurs series, to recreate Big Al's life for the television screen.

In the first programme we follow him from his birth to his death - a 15 year story of a lone battle against formidable prey and voracious predators.

The second programme is a scientific detective story to trace the evidence of Big Al. Employing the same state of the art graphic effects, Big Al roams modern-day museums and dig sites where we see passionate scientists explaining the research behind his tale.

* Land Of Giants:

Nigel pushes himself to the limit as he travels back to the Argentinean landscape of 100 million years ago to fulfil a burning ambition - to witness the biggest land predator bringing down the biggest land prey. But he must first get past some of the most lethal killers that ever walked the earth. Can he outwit them to realise his ambition?

* The Giant Claw:

Nigel has a precarious mission ahead - travelling back 75 million years to Mongolia, his mission is to track down the owner of the largest claws ever discovered. But negotiating the hazards of the Cretaceous is no walk in the park, and Nigel finds himself in the path of some accomplished hunters. Will he live to discover the true nature of his quarry?

This is great, my son loves dinosaurs!

I wonder if we'll get the creationists flooding this deal, perhaps to ask why this documentary doesn't show people riding the dinosaurs on saddles?
