No one's talking of "cancelling" this show except for you. It's critically acclaimed and has been in the West End for over a decade.

I really wanted to see this for yrs, it was a BIG hit in Broadway and my wife and I liked South Park/ Team America etc. But then my wife went to see it with her mates and was scathing about it. The humour generally missed the mark and was just outright racist and kept on banging on about everyone in Africa having aids and raping babies. And this is from a Caucasian middle aged woman who knew what to expect going to see something from the makers of South Park. I was quite shocked how much she hated the show but then read the reviews online. I'd urge others to do the same

I think a lot of the people offended by this show and calling it racist are white people being offended on behalf of black people.

One of my best mates is black and was born in Africa, came over to the UK around age 8. I did watch this considering what he would think if he watched it. I sent him a couple of the ‘worst’ songs to ask his opinion on them and he found it hilarious.

I can't believe the Book of Mormon is still shown in theaters in 2023. It's out and out racist stereotyping and punching down, full stop! Calling Africans (set in Uganda, but could be anywhere in Africa) non-descript fools, raping babies, riddled with aids and amongst other nasty things is shocking and deeply offensive.

Imagine if this show mocked white imperialism or any other group or race, I'm sure undoubtedly there will be a totally different response.

Mimicking bigotry and passing it off as satire is the laziest form of comedy.

Avoid the Book of Mormon if you have an ounce of decency!!!

Thanks OP - Got a stall seat next to mixing desk . I wish they would produce a stage show based on the songs featured in the Bigger , Longer, Uncut movie - great tunes . "Blame Canada" should have won the Oscar that year. (edited)

I absolutely love going to the theatre, but some of these prices (£150 each) is just ridiculous. When you combine it with ulez, congestion charge, parking, eating, you can get a week's cheap holiday in Spain for the same price.

It’s very good. Very rude! What would you expect from the writers of South Park? Only the very cheapest seats at this rate on the dates I looked unfortunately.

Just saw it yesterday, if you like crass/shocking humor you'll have a blast. I don't like musicals but this was great. Portrays Africans as ooga booga villagers but don't get too offended, you're not supposed to take it seriously.

Mormons, and a mission to Africa, it's an excellent, excellent show but very sweary. Not one for people who are easily offended. Written by the creators of South Park but critically acclaimed.

Seen this a couple of time now and it’s great.

Yes the language is very bad, but like South Park it actually has a very good message in the narrative which is essentially no matter what you believe, just be nice to each other.

The songs are also written in collaboration with Robert Lopez who wrote the songs from Frozen & Frozen 2 so they’re really good songs too.
