The Chimp Paradox is an incredibly powerful mind management model that can help you become a happy, confident, healthier and more successful person. Prof Steve Peters explains the struggle that takes place within your mind and then shows how to apply this understanding to every area of your life so you can:

- Recognise how your mind is working
- Understand and manage your emotions and thoughts
- Manage yourself and become the person you would like to be

The Chimp Mind Management Model is based on scientific facts and principles, which have been simplified into a workable model for easy use. It will help you to develop yourself and give you the skills, for example, to remove anxiety, have confidence and choose your emotions. The book will do this by giving you an understanding of the way in which your mind works and how you can manage it. It will also help you to identify what is holding you back or preventing you from having a happier and more successful life.

Each chapter explains different aspects of how you function and highlights key facts for you to understand. There are also exercises for you to work with. By undertaking these exercises you will see immediate improvements in your daily living and, over time, you will develop emotional skills and practical habits that will help you to become the person that you want to be, and live the life that you want to live.

The Mind Illuminated: A Complete Meditation Guide Integrating Buddhist Wisdom and Brain Science for Greater Mindfulness- John Yates Phd is also excellent, and quite different to this book.

Mindfulness: A Practical Guide to Finding Peace in a Frantic World by by Mark Williams and Dr Danny Penman is also very good.

I've always had bad mental health and in 2015 it came to a turning point where if I didn't change something I was going to quit living, dark times. You don't really understand it unless you've been there or experienced a loved one suffering. So I recommend those books, they're quite a different take on Mindfulness. What I have learnt is that the mind is never quiet, and you can't force it to be quiet, the real skill in Meditation is to observe the thoughts and watch them ebb and flow and dissipate and move to the next thought. Mindfulness builds a skill that teaches; you are not your thoughts and helps to separate the emotion from the thoughts.

I also have done much research on diet and gut health too, so maybe I'm closer to where I want to be mentally, but still feels quite a long way off. I guess I'll always be fine tuning myself.

Excellent price! Thanks for posting xxx
Superb book/Audio, teaches you a lot about you & all those around you.
Absolutely brilliant book!
I just don't get it. He's such a conman. His whole principal is basically count backwards from 10, but adds a chimp into the equation. If you buy into this you're a fool.

You don’t get it... He’s explaining to you how your mind works what makes you tick, why you feel this toxic mix of feelings which part of the brain is in play and how to cope, understand and with practice intervene. It’s worth it’s weight in gold this book.
