Well.... The Answer to that question is simple, because we enjoy buying limited, exclusive and collectors editions, whether they contains books, statues, ornaments, scripts, exclusive photo cards or art they are just nice to own and enjoy.

Except that this deal was for a collectors edition, a physical thing you get to keep, so not very similar to just watching on Netflix is it?

Its So True, these people that constantly go on about watching on Netflix, NowTV or Amazon bother me a lot, and one very important truth they forget to realise is that these streaming services and an internet connection comes at a cost, now lets put this into a much deeper perspective and reality check for them using an example: "The Crown" Series Collectors Edition £16.95 Physical Media = superior picture & sound quality, which can be watched anytime once purchased.

The Crown contains 10 Episodes in total which for any average watcher would take between 2-4 weeks to watch an entire series, unless they binged watched 1-2 episodes an night, but you can safely say you would need to pay for at least 1 month subscription to Netflix which is £12 + the cost of the Internet to their house which no one takes into account... but most people would watch an entire series over 2 months in my opinion due to work, commitments, watching over shows etc, which would cost £24 just for Netflix, which equals much more than your Physical Media edition.

This is my all-point these people forget for these streaming services & internet connection cost money and an average entire season of a TV show would take at least 1 month to watch, unless they binged watched more than 1 episode a night, so actually in many cases buying the physical media works out cheaper, especially where TV series are concerned.

And I to love buying physical media & collectors editions..

So Blu-ray players are free? Netflix premium package only cost £4.79 this month and don't forget about the 30 day free which can be done multiple times.

If CEX fodder gives you some happiness in your life go for it.

first of all taking advantage of Netflix using VPN is not fair, eventually those in poorer countries will suffer when Netflix increase their pricing, 30 day trials are no longer available in the UK because of people like you spoiling it for everyone else, some genuine people are happy to have 30 days ONLY and then PAY as requested.

So stop bragging about taking advantage of Netflix and Streaming Services FREE trails, I am fed-up of people bragging about VPN on Netflix, its costing Netflix fortunes in cyber security which is the KEY reason they increased the pricing tariff in the UK because UK is one of the main culprits of users taking advantage and using VPN, this is a FACT... they also got fedup of people mis-using multiple email addresses for multiple trails, Netflix in the UK is now one of the most expensive streaming services in the world, because they was FORCED to increase pricing because they had to invest fortunes on cyber security to clamp down on users using VPN services, UK comes second on the chart of people taking advantage of FREE trails and using VPN services... had people stayed genuine and paid what was asked when it was only £8.99 a month, the pricing would most likely be the same today, but NO, people like you have to spoil it for everyone else. We all love a good deal but some people just take the mick... like when people filled entire shopping trolleys with nothing but Amazon Alexa & Echo Devices on Black Friday.

gosh, if you only you knew what else I got up to....

Do you have a link to this 'fortunes' article and the rest of your rants points as they are not doing a very good job.

I am not that bothered, there was a in-depth article written last year which also contained a pie-chart which showed the countries where Netflix was been mis-used by people using VPN services and UK was 2nd on the chart... it also spoke briefly on how Netflix was forced to invest in advanced cyberspace security to try to tackle the threat, and so far they may not have been totally successful but many users have been banned from using the site all-together and accounts have been deleted.

And if you are not yet aware Netflix UK as of December 2019, no longer offers a 30-day trial, infact now you cannot have a trial for any amount of time... not even 7 day trail... unlike in other countries where people can get a 30 day trail... some banks are also now helping Netflix to prevent certain credit cards and virtual cards been used by utilising a geo-location cyber gates which determines in which country the bank and credit card belong to... this all costs money... Netflix are still working hard on a total VPN ban, but eventually they will clamp down, just like google did with Kodi, how many Kodi Repos still work now in comparison to the repos available 5 years ago? ask yourself that question?

To conclude: do what you want just accept people like buying physical media and like visiting shops like HMV and don't argue with people, and then brag about using Netflix VPN and using old-methods of getting around the 30 day trail which is NO longer available for UK users, thanks to people like you.

You are most welcome. I'll enjoy my Turkish Netflix sub as I have done for nearly two years now

You didn't reply about the need to buy a Bluray player...
