I paid £18 for this from Fopp a few months ago and it was the best price at the time. Now it's only £10.99 delivered at HMV and is in stock! It's a terrific album and this vinyl edition sounds absolutely fantastic! The next best price sems to be £16.99 @ Amazon.

Ignore HMV's image of a DVD, the Rhino label and catalogue number are correct.

I really miss my record player for this reason. None of my Doors CD's sound the same

Yeah, there's something great about vinyl. I bought a Project 6 Perspex turntable for £850 a couple of weeks ago and this album sound frickin awsome!

If this LP doesn't make your hifi sing get get your toes tapping, you need a better hifi!

all 6 studio albums available at this price. absolutely stonking deal!

Oh So Tempted Great Find

HMV seem to have loads of cheap vinyl online compared to their in store prices. Loads of Pavement LPs for £7.99 each for a start. Will charge you £18 in store for the exact same record, I always worry about them getting mashed up in the post though!

I've bought quite a few LPs from HMV and have never had a problem with a record being damaged in transit. HMV and most other vinyl retailers use bespoke packaging to make sure it's safe.

I too bought a turntable; a Project Essential. Problem is I know am buying all the vinyl albums I sold on ebay years ago

If this is anything like the re-mastered cd it will sound awful , the songs have been destroyed by the re-mix , go for the non re-mastered series as they are the best soundwise .

They are the best band in the world , great album , good to know they still not dead yet. Alright yeah

I've got this LP and I think it sounds terrific! I played it last night before I posted the deal and it within a few bars of The Changeling, my toes were tapping and I was playing air guitar and singing along quite the thing. I've not heard any other vinyl edition, but I think this one's great.

I found this LP for £1 in a charity shop last week! But for a brand new copy, this is a decent deal.

Yeah you can get some great bargains in in charity shops. I once bought a copy of Don McLean's American Pie for 60p and it was in excellent condition! I picked up Heaven 17's The Luxury Gap for £2 last week and it too was in excellent condition. I usually visit charity shops in Clarkston, near Glasgow, as it's pretty much surrounded by affluent areas, so there's usually good quality stuff going cheap.

That is good to know , I have the original cd & then re-mastered cd , it has been butchered in the remix .

I once found three different versions of Black & White Minstrel albums in a charity shop on Gateshead high street. I think your theory is proven....

What albums were they?

You've gotta hear "Black & White Minstrel Show plays the Songs of Radiohead" - pure classic, man. All the rage in Partick!

The reason why the CDs don't sound the same is because they are now at the correct speed. The tapes were stretched according to recent sleeve notes. I prefer the dodgy speed as I'm used to it! Computers! - they will never catch on

if your going to buy vinyl from a record fair take a small torch and check the grooves as some dealers will use a cleaner that makes the disc look good but the actual record is knackered

That's a great idea as I've bought vinyl that was described as 'mint' and although it looked mint, it didn't sound mint.

Looks like a gold cd version is very good for sound quality and lack of compression.

Can someone please upload a "TT-Dynamic-Range 1.4" software analysis of this vinyl version please?
thanks

I've also got this album in DVD-A, although have yet to listen to it since I got it on vinyl because a) the vinyl sounds fantastic and b) my £850 turntable is very good whereas my DVD-A player is a £40 Pioneer DV600 DVD player, so my source machines aren't in the same league. Maybe I'll listen to it tonight in 2-Channel. If I do, I'll report my findings.

The DVD-A edition scores well in the DR Database too.

EDIT: I just gave them a quick listen and I instantly preferred the vinyl over the DVD-A version. I think that's probably got more to do with my turntable being much better quality than my DVD-A player though.

It would be good if you could upload the vinyl version to the database for others to benefit fromn.
thanks

Yeah it's a pity about the SACD/ DVD-A war that no format won which meant the people lost too. How would I upload the vinyl edition of LA Woman? I've never done anything like that before.

Original Poster

How do you upload more than one track without having to submit a new form?

The software TT-Dynamic-Range 1.4 produces a text file called dr.txt which you attach to the form and it fills in the tracks for you for that album.

Well it wasn't spam, it was removed because the record company themselves only sell through an eBay store at the moment and the management here didn't think that their 'low number' of feedbacks (albeit 100% positive) was within their rules. Never mind.
