worth getting the deluxe for £4.99?

Tempting, but I already have Skyrim...decisions.

The Deluxe gives you some addtional character themed "Lairs" to furnish (thief, fighter, mage, baddie - though there's nothing to stop you from using any or all of them, whatever your playing style) , some of which can generate an addtional revenue stream, and have their own "toys" and quirks - plus the addtional "Mehrune's Razor" quest. Probably worth the extra 1.25...

Bargain - Heat added

Already have this on PS3 & i'm not very impressed with it

Not bad at £3.74 though, worth a punt, just need to clear some drive space

After playing 8 hours of Skyrim Oblivion seems completely archaic

Skyrim feels like Oblivion 1.5 to me, not much difference.

Must be trolling?

Skyrim is leagues ahead.

Thank you I know there have been mixed reviews about this game, but I loved Morrowind sooo much, got to get it at this price with everything included.

So it's not just me then? EVERYONE was telling me how good this game was and like the sucker I am I went out and bought it. And it turns out it's terrible.

Which was annoying.

I think 'terrible' is a bit harsh. Maybe 'Not my type of game' is more accurate?

Personally I enjoyed Oblivion, spent well in excess of 100 hours in it. So I'd say this game for £3.74 is fantastic value.

It's a shame Morrowind isn't on sale too.

oh I have morrowind on the original xbox, never got round to playing it either, morrowind is from 2002! my god where does the time go?!
should I try to dig out my xbox and play that instead of oblivion?

Great price, hot from me. Not buying, mind - still haven't finished Morrowind!

A friend of mine recently bought it for £20...
Its a great game, and I'd recommend the FCOM patch/mod for a shed load of more content.

I liked Oblivion, but after going through the same Oblivion gate what seemed like 50 times and playing the same level 50 times, I stopped playing. Until then it was good though.
Started Skyrim, agree with previous comment by condracky - Oblivion 1.5.

Looks like it :O
I don't hate it, or dislike it, but don't love it, i just can't get into it, the controls seem odd & the story it sooo slow to kick off, plus i'm more used to Fallout style from vethsidia & theres too many skills to get my head around, not to mention the creation

worth getting the deluxe for £4.99?

does it also include the goty ?

I still have happy memories of the hours spent hoarding books in my houses and hoping for a glimpse of nudity in the taverns.
Ah Daggerfall, I'll have to try and run you on a modern pc again one day

Elder Scrolls isn't for everyone. In Skyrim, by the time I arrived at Riverwood I just felt I couldn't be bothered with it anymore.

Guess I don't like non-linear games. I'm quite keen on Japanese RPGs and it's probably because they're linear and don't overcomplicate too much. Shame they're only on the handhelds these days and not consoles.

I really enjoyed Oblivion, but the levelling system completely killed it for me.

Such a great deal here, loads of game for ur money

DAMN! I was considering this at £13, let alone £4. I think I'll get this for when I'm done with Skyrim.

Morrowind was much better, I found the main quest kinda boring for Oblivion, then Skyrim made it all better. Regardless though...I'll be getting it at this price in hope that I can get into it more.

It's ultimately a single mans game. Relationship + Oblivion = Horror show.

You mean you need to be a saddo pretending beer farts and pizza is a lifestyle preferential to marriage and kids (and responsibility) is needed to play this game ?

Great bargain but I'd get the Deluxe version for a bargain £4.99. Your Deluxe purchase may show up as only GotY like mine but don't worry, a check of this location will show you have the Deluxe DLCs - C:\Steam\steamapps\common\oblivion\Data

This is an amazing which I bought when the GotY first came out. You can get 200 hours out of this game if you complete every main and side quest. It's a lonely journey but very rewarding. Completing actions to level up is how it's suppose to be but you can change this system with several great mods. You don't need to search for guides as it explains almost everything as you go along.

If you into modding and want to improve ANY aspect of the game, checking out tesnexus.com/dow…ads is worth while and very rewarding. Can turn the console looking interface into PC friendly layout, adds new missions, improves the graphics for the latest hardware, new items, gameplay, etc.

Bitter about the marriage, kids and responsibility are we?

Bought deluxe at £4.99. Actually had to buy a mouse also to play this. I previously bought the original for my old PC before it died so have been left wanting ever since. I have sworn not to buy Skyrim until my exams are over but I guess this is allowed! Great deal, thanks (I think)!

Should suit you down to the ground then Phil! Buy it, buy it now!

Oblivion was only a true great on the PC, the massive modding community (as big as any game ever) released new improved HD graphics & textures, changes to levelling systems, enhanced combat, many many added quests, areas, enemies, and more.

I got more from Oblivion than any game I have ever played simply due to the modding community. Example here

Cracking game, and would be worth it for anyone who likes RPGs. It's a 5 year old game, so there are bound to have been technical advances. Skyrim is a huge leap forwards, but Oblivion is still great.

My, you're a sneaking looking sort!

Oblivion, so many hours put into that game, sold it once, bought GOTY again a few years later and played it all over again! Definitely hot.

Loving Skyrim at the moment, shame Amazon didn't deliver on release day and I had to go to Game to buy it. (yes I HAD to!)

I second that on the Xbox 360 anyway - traded mine in the day after I got it - clunky, crusty graphics that have not moved on since the last version. No where near the standard of other recent games like Gears Of War 3 for instance. Even the cart you start in looks awful with unrealistic looking timber and leather straps that dont even vaguely look real. Plus playing the game is drawn out, boring and tedious. If you like that sort of thing, buy this and save £30 - there isnt much difference imo.

Modded, this game still looks damn pretty today: http://i.imgur.com/1zmOS.jpg

Can't wait to see what modders can do with skyrim, first thing's first they need to fix that terrible console style UI.

Can you mod the steam version of Oblivion, or will it flag it as some sort of trainer/crack?

I bought the deluxe version and have applied several mods already with no Steam issues...

The Oblivion Mod Manager...

tesnexus.com/dow…097

The Unofficial Patch...

tesnexus.com/dow…296
(3.40)

The Unofficial Official Mods patch...

tesnexus.com/dow…969

The Unofficial Shivering Isle patch...

tesnexus.com/dow…739

A start saved game at the sewer exit...

tesnexus.com/dow…342

...any other mod is kinda subjective but the ones above seem to do a lot of fixing.

Then I added this for the UI...

tesnexus.com/dow…763

(something which Skyrim desperately needs)

It really is not morrowind, but still a great game... if only they hadn't screwed up the Leveling it would have been awesome.

****! I just bought the 5 year anniversary edition from Game for £9.99 oO

Cracking deal though. I'm tempted to buy the deluxe edition for the extras and the convenience of Steam.
