The next chapter in the highly anticipated Elder Scrolls saga arrives from the makers of the 2006 and 2008 Games of the Year, Bethesda Game Studios. Skyrim reimagines and revolutionizes the open-world fantasy epic, bringing to life a complete virtual world open for you to explore any way you choose.

The Empire of Tamriel is on the edge. The High King of Skyrim has been murdered. Alliances form as claims to the throne are made. In the midst of this conflict, a far more dangerous, ancient evil is awakened. Dragons, long lost to the passages of the Elder Scrolls, have returned to Tamriel. The future of Skyrim, even the Empire itself, hangs in the balance as they wait for the prophesized Dragonborn to come; a hero born with the power of The Voice, and the only one who can stand amongst the dragons.

Legendary is £7.53. Steam may beat that price at 6pm though.

for a moment i thought you were talking about this abomination

that's about 2p and hour FANTASTIC price for one of the greatest games ever.:p

Sweet baby Jesus and the orphans!!! I can't remember what I paid for this a couple of weeks ago but it was a bargain. Now its just getting silly. My lexicon of hot words fails me. So i'll invent one. Uberscorchio!!

Seriously? There's way more than 100 hours worth of gameplay in this.

Great price for this bud, have some heat And, a little gaming love

£2, thats just silly cheap, its baffling when you think what you're getting for the money.

Its annoying that I can't get the DLC cheaper by itself but tempted with Legendary at that price, presumably it will just add the DLC to my existing install?

Agreed. My first play through was on a pirate version (which I bitterly regret, not just because it was easily worth the purchase price, but because I had to weather quite a few bugs and have nothing to show for all the time/effort). I re-launched that save file recently in the Steam version just before I started a re-play. 140h in the core game, and I'd done pretty much everything I could find to do, but I'm sure there was more that I just hadn't come across. Oh, and I abused the Oghma Infinium exploit about 2/3 through my game, which you can't do now! Would've taken me longer otherwise.

In summary, especially factoring in the DLC and different faction allegiances, you could essentially play this game indefinitely.

whats the lowest spec laptop people are playing this on?
have it on ps3 but dlc is never cheap afaik

legendary would probably be cheaper on pc than getting it ps3 dlc

though if spend 2 quid now is it one of those games where dlc costs more than 'complete' versions thus making it 2 quid wasted?

An outstanding game (the best I've ever played) and an absolute bargain at this price!!!
I agree there is way more than 100hrs of gameplay
Sometimes (when I'm feeling a bit low) I restart the game and just wander around picking flowers and making a few potions. I may also kill something...

Cheaper to get the full lot at once IMHO, I'm going to wait to see if the Legendary version is reduced later today. IIRR, it went down to £6 last time it was on sale.

Or you can try:

Would the legendary edition be better value in the long run?

Definitely, as long as you end up liking the game and actually want the DLC.

Yes. DLC doesn't get reduced that much. Steam may have it cheaper at 6pm though so wait until then to see where to buy it from.

Don't want to derail Jay's post but just faffing around on GMG. You can get the original vanilla Fallout 3 for 2 quid or 4.08 using the code provided in OP title. Same prices apply to New Vegas. Dunno whether its been posted elsewhere.

Previous sale prices for Legendary have been £6.60 & £6.79.

cheers, unofficial chipset thing looks useful
cyri and official specs are basically useless though
thanks for confirming re: pricing

shame morrowind isn't 50p though, if skyrim is 2quid then i cant pay the same or more for that!

Bought it on the Xbox a few months back for £15. I thought THAT was a steal.

Might just go for this at a couple of quid.

Stunning deal that by rights should go to at least 2000 degrees... but due to the way this place works it most likely won't.

A terrific bargain. I got the game for 19 pounds on release day, and I've thought for a long time what a steal that was. Had 100 hours of wonderous gaming, and 70 more that were still enjoyable on top of that. Just hope the Elder Scrolls online hasn't distracted Bethesda from a delivering a new well crafted open world single-player game soon.

tbf it looks like its only been posted for 2 hours.. give it a chance!
though as above even though its a great price legendary will probably be cheaper if looking at getting dlc in future

I was playing with the code as well and have just purchased Fallout: New Vegas Ultimate Edition for £4.08 and activated it on Steam. Checking the recent sale prices for the game £4.08 is the cheapest it has ever been.

Thank you jaystan for the code in another thread.

Apologies if this is a dumb question, but what is the 6pm thing you're talking about?
Do Steam have a weekly sales or something or is that the time they update their prices etc?

Amazing game and for £2!!!!

New deal comes on every day at 6pm. It is Quakecon weekend so more than likely todays sale will be Skyrim.

looking to get a pc to play skyrim with mods on the cheap has anyone got any recommendations for a pc noob please?

I would really recommend Chillblast, they put together a sweet gaming pc for me for £600 and it handles anything I've thrown at it, including Skyrim with graphics mods on highest settings and still managing 45-60 FPS

What does the Legendary have over the standard version? How much more gameplay compared to the standard?

I've been away from pc gaming for a spell. Last gen was spent mainly on console. Just recently built a steambox. Best place for inspiration is Youtube and PCpartpicker.

First get on Youtube and type in your budget. "400-1000 quid gaming pc" and check out a few builds. next go to pcpartpicker and check for compatibility of builds. Then use Flubit and any decent online retailer get your parts.

I spent 350-ish sans OS, screen, mouse /keyboard to get a fairly decent PC that can play at 1080p. I never use v-sync or AA so I'm a special case when it comes to settings. You may have to pay a bit more for smooth filters.

Good luck.
