  • Actors: Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture The first three films from the action series featuring an ensemble cast which includes Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li and Dolph Lundgren. 'The Expendables' (2010), directed by Stallone, follows a group of professional killers as they join forces to bring down a South American dictator. With cameo appearances from Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis, the film also sees Stallone and Schwarzenegger sharing a screen for the first time ever. In 'The Expendables 2' (2012) Mr Church (Willis) reunites the formidable Expendables team, plus new member Billy the Kid (Liam Hemsworth), for what should be a straightforward job. But when one of their number is murdered by adversary Jean Vilain (Jean-Claude Van Damme), the team's quest for revenge finds them pitted against an unexpected rival. In 'The Expendables 3' (2014) Barney Ross (Stallone) comes face-to-face with old nemesis Conrad Stonebanks (Mel Gibson), with whom he originally formed the group of mercenaries known as the Expendables. However, when Stonebanks turned into a dangerous arms trader, Barney had no choice but to take him out and believed him to be dead - until now. With some new, younger additions to his team, Barney once again confronts Stonebanks but will the mission be a success this time?

That's too much money on a throwaway film.

I enjoyed all three in this set; in order of my preference: #2, #1, then #3, but the next one will have to bring in some more of the 1980s/1990s action stars to make it worthwhile continuing.

I expect an all-female cast may be considered, much like this movie...

March 2017 <- Out-of-date news, please disregard [see below]

PS. A reboot of "Rambo" is planned, & Stallone's involvement in that is likely to be minimal-to-none too.

Ah yes... he must have got the story re-write he wanted:

For a hot second, it looked like Sylvester Stallone wouldn't be back for the fourth outing, reportedly due to disagreements with producer Avi Lerner about the direction of the movie last year.

It ultimately led to the project being delayed and Stallone almost walking away from the franchise.

However, it appears both the film and Stallone's participation appear to be back on track despite Stallone signing on for Creed II in October last year, originally to direct (fun fact: the first Creed film was directed by Black Panther's Ryan Coogler).
Why buy these Expendable franchise when it comes on TV so often. I watched all 3 Expendables on TV last week and I had it on recordings too and I deleted them after I watched them. I wouldn’t say it’s that great it’s ok film. Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle is a better film for me and Dwayne Johnson should be in the 4th movie with Pierce Brosnan as well heard it from a grapevine
This post makes no sense, Price is £9.99 but £6.99 for Prime members and £8.99 for non prime members? I'm a prime member and it's saying £9.99. Why have the other prices listed?
