Thanks - kids have been dying to read this!

I wanted to buy 45 copies of this for a specific group of children as a present. Amazon have a limit of 5 per order whereas Play did not, so went with Play as per posting.

We bought them all The Gruffalo last year as we took them to Leicester to see the Stage Show. This will be a fantastic followup present.

Thanks for posting.

You do know these are books for small children don't you? My daughter loves this book and its a very good follow up to the gruffalo.

Am I the only who wasn't so impressed by either the original, or this follow up?

It's another of many kids books that tries to be too clever with a big underlying message. The thing is, by the time kids are old enough to really 'get it', they aren't really interested in such basic books. Kids of 3-5 just want a fun story that sets their imagination going, not some moral or life lesson that they won't really understand.

The Gruffalo was great - both the text and the detailed pictures had the kids hooked. But the Gruffalo's Child is awful, a rushed follow-up lacking the charm and detail of the original. Even the illustrations are dull. There is only one true Gruffalo classic!

thanks just ordered
