It is the most remarkable, certainly the most successful, book ever to come out of the great publishing corporations of Ursa Minor. More popular than the Celestial Home Care Omnibus, better selling than Fifty Three Things to Do in Zero Gravity, and more controversial than Oolon Colluphid's trilogy of philosophical blockbusters - Where God Went Wrong, Some More of God's Greatest Mistakes and Who is this God Person Anyway? So that whingeing Earthling Arthur Dent should be very grateful he had a copy!

For after Earth is destroyed to make way for a hyperspace bypass, Arthur Dent is let loose in the furthest recesses of the Galaxy armed only with the aforementioned mysterious but indispensable Guide. Follow Dent's cosmic adventures as he is joined by his pretty weird companions: Zaphod Beeblebrox, Ford Prefect, Trillian-the-Astrophysicist-he-met-at-a-party-in-Islington and Marvin the manically depressed Android. You never know, they may even find the answer to Life, The Universe and Everything!

Special Features:
The Making of The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, Directed by Kevin Davies
Updated Feature with Cast Interviews, Stills, Out-takes & Convention Footage
Exclusive Behind the Scenes Footage from 'Making Of the Hitchhiker's Radio Series
Deleted Scenes
Introduction by Peter Jones Filmed Live at the NFT
Full Length Douglas Adams Interview - Audio
Tomorrow's World 1981 Report on Zaphod Beeblebrox's Animatronic Head

Not sure why cold, this is a great series & a good price.

Don't know why it's cold - ok it's not as good as the radio series or book, but it's still very funny. Hot from me, especially as the Quidco brings it down to nearer £9.

Also could use some McDonalds vouchers to bring it down another couple of quid - if you're quick (expire 22nd May I think)

:xC'mon guys, lets get this warmer, never mind if its a good deal, which I think it is, Hitch-hikers is a mega cult series and should never be voted cold in my eyes.

Maybe people are confusing the TV version with the movie! The movie was awful, but the TV show was funny.

hot from me - the tv show was brill & as above sadly I gound the movie to be rubbish.

TV Series rocked, not as much as book or radio but little does :-)

Voted hot

Don't forget 9% Quidco for dvd's.

Couldn't have put it better myself.
The only thing(s) better than the tv play was the books/radio.

I loved this series

I didn't mind the movie but i saw the tv show years before the movie came out and it is so much better, and is very very much worth buying it at this price

Corpse, if you haven't heard the radio series you must try to get hold of it - it is how the whole thing started (even the books) and is sublime.

agreed:thumbsup:

people moan about the movie but it was essentially Adams' script and I though it was pretty good - the main gripe people have is its difference in story from the books etc but any Hitchhikers fan knows that's complete bunk as the series revels in plot variations! The radioshow to the tv show to the books to the film all have different bits in, they've even recorded a couple of extra parts to the radio show recently. Voted hot anyway, the show's showing its age but it's still excellent, especially the guide bits...

as has been said already the radio show and books are better but the TV show is still worth watching as the humor is consistant throughout every genre.

Does anyone remember the computer game? It was one of those text based adventures... if I remember rightly you can get an emulator for firefox which allows you to play it! I'll have to go find that now... voted hot for jogging my memory about that!

Apparently there's an updated version, with graphics on the ]BBC website here. Apologies if it's wrong as I can't link to it because I'm at work and it's been blocked:x

made my day!

Just got home and tried it, looks pretty good to me - shame I can't get it working at work though, it'd be a great way to while away the boring times!
