Looking to watch the Hobbit? Look no further. The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, Peter Jackson’s adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien’s epic book, is now available to watch on Netflix UK.

Membership costs 6 quid, but you can also use a free 30 day trial and have full access to everything.

The film is set sixty years before The Lord of the Rings and follows the journey of Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman) who finds himself caught up in an epic quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom from the fearsome dragon Smaug.

The Hobbit also stars Ian McKellen as Gandalf the Grey Cate Blanchett as Galadriel; Orlando Bloom as Legolas; Ian Holm as the elder Bilbo; Christopher Lee as Saruman; Hugo Weaving as Elrond; Elijah Wood as Frodo; and Andy Serkis as Gollum.

The next instalment, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug will be released at cinemas on December 13th with the final chapter, The Hobbit: There and Back Again arriving in cinemas on July 18 2014.

Got that weeks ago, on blue ray, as part of my two months free trial on Lovefilm. Is that Nerflix just getting it? Cold!

Its brilliant that netflix is really getting a foothold here in the uk this is a big coup getting a film of this size over sky movies.

The BluRay and VOD are released same day a few months later broadcast rights are auctioned Netflix beat sky to the rights (the first time anyone has outbid sky) so it was added on tuesday. I hope its the way things happen more in the future £5.99 is a bargin for Netflix. (the price its been since lanuch)

My Samsung bluray player doesn't like this, keeps telling me I can't watch it on the device as cineavia or something says no

Great to see them getting Top A stuff, am watchit now to show I like such things
