3D?

No. I doubt there will be a 3d extended edition. But I've been wrong before.

Yay! Just preordered

The standard trilogy is this price in all HMV stores.

use ZVC5 comes to £23.74

Guaranteed to be cancelled. But worth a shot.

Really not very good movies. Saying all that, pre-ordered here. Price seemed too good not to bite. Could come in handy as a Christmas present for somebody.

There's already two extended 3D versions of the first two films so I'd imagine the final one will be on it's way at some point next year.

They already stretched what was a small childrens book into 6+ hours of film, what else could they stuff in there? The last film was mostly padding as it is.

15 discs. The Extended Blu-Ray editions of the first two films included 3D extended versions, and were 5 discs each time. This set releases a week after the third film has its Extended (inc 3D) Blu-Ray release. Which I'm thinking will be 5 discs as well.

Maybe it does include the 3D extended versions. Probably worth ordering and potentially cancelling if that's a deal breaker for you.

Ta, rude not to try!

Lets hope not. Given the spine titles aren't even aligned to the 'Extended Edition' text at the bottom.

I have no idea what The Hobbit is to be honest, let alone the title of it's third entry.

Tbh I much preferred THAT title as opposed to 'Battle Of the Five Armies'. Seemed like too much of a giveaway to what would happen later on in the film which might I add was such a disappointment You should all do yourself a favour and read Viggo Mortensen's interview on the films (and other Peter Jackson ones) as he is spot on with his analysis.

Still I wonder if Jackson is planning on bringing 'The Similarion' on screen? Last battle would be EPIC!

Would much prefer a big budget sequel to his best film, Braindead.

Thanks. That's one of my daughters Xmas presents sorted. Just ordered.

Worth a go. Thanks OP.

Amazing deal if it is honoured! Got a feeling it's a misprice though as everywhere else it's £40 upwards! Hot!!

worth a punt - lets see if they honour it

so were the first to. My advice is by the book is much better and save some money

Ordered. I have the other two as extended 3D editions and they were £22.99 each!

Noticed the dvd version is £59.99 so this is either the best bargain ever or a mis- price.

Worth a try

Zavvi's been a bit hit and miss with pre-orders but worth a punt. Cheers op!

As I said above looks like I am wrong. Blu-Ray.com says it's the 3D versions too. Fingers crossed it's honoured.

If the description is correct then it has 15 discs. Only the 3D versions are 5 discs per film. I've taken a screenshot of the description and ordered, thanks for posting.

Definitely worth a punt but I'll be very surprised if this deal is honoured. I've put my order in anyway. Thanks for the heads up on this stonking deal (if it's actually honoured!). Much heat!!

'The Hobbit' is an object lesson in how to separate fools from their money!

Each time a new film was released the old one was held at the old price, then, they released an extended edition which was even more expensive than the one before, with the previous one only dropping slightly in price.

I saw them doing this and simply avoided buying the individual discs after the first one, because I knew that a box set would be along soon. This set will probably be down to £15 after Xmas though!

When do they take the money?
