See all 3 films in 3D (and HFR in selected cinemas) back-to-back starting at 5:40pm this Thursday, culminating in The Battle Of The Five Armies just after it's midnight release and finishing around 2am Friday morning. Obviously ticket prices may well vary but I paid £18.25 (inc 75p for booking online) for the non-HFR version. If I've had booked just Five Armies then its £13.10 so £5.15 for the first two films is a pretty good deal in my book.

Nice deal! £6.08 each film in 3D is great price! Heat added OP

nice, might be worth investing in adult diaper for that day tho

Alternatively just go to the toilet whenever you like as all you will miss is a bunch of cgi people running away from stuff!

I still have not seen the first one yet.

good find op,heat added

Thanks for reminding me to book tickets for this. Went into the lord of the rings trilogy back then, and they had Frodo sandwiches and Gollum sausages in the interval most people came dressed up, but probably not this time...

£15 in empire cinemas and with premium seats

I found it hard to get through them individually...

£14 in Cineworld when booked online

Heat for a deal and unique experience....

though I don't think my mind could handle that much stereoscopic 3d...

Voted Hot, this would be a nightmare though, I liked LOTR films, hate Hobbit films. I've done an all nighter with back to back films 25 years ago at the Scala Cinema in London, unique experience if you like the films.

Ooh! does it feature James Nesbitt looking worried and frowning a lot?

I'd like to see the new film though... but really don't want to see the singing dish washing vikings (Dwarfs) again from the first one.

CANNOT wait for TBOTFA! Great find - heat added,

Back to back??....aren't these 3 hours long each???!!...

I will wait until they show The Hobbit and The Lord Of The Rings films all back to back.

I saw this on the cineworld site yesterday, it says 505 minutes,. That's a LOT of 3D, don't think my eyes could handle it!

lolll X)

Actually I would really love to see the LOTR trilogy back to back on the cinema!

I love The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings!

just after midnight till 2am - short version this one then

Rubbish, why show the 3D versions? Dim picture and eye strain. They couldn't pay me to sit through 9 hours of that.

I'll settle for my LOTR marathon day over the Xmas holidays; Glorious bright, sharp and in focus 2D, my own sofa and no yobs facebooking and rattling paper bags all the way through.

Just my opinion, but these aren't a patch on the LOTR films. With those, they had to leave bits out to condense each book into one film. With these, they've added bits for the sake of it to spin the story out into three cashcows sorry movies. And they don't really work. They aren't bad films as such... just far too long.

I'm awaiting the announcement of the inevitable sequel any time now... probably featuring Legolas again...

does this include any food or refreshments?

Great price, Voted HOT!

You don't like the outside world much then...?

Prefer watching long films in the comfort of my own home to be honest.

Then again I got a decent set up.

Ha! 200+ degrees and its more expensive than both Cineworld and Empire oO

Dont think the wife will let me out for that long

Youre right. I hate having to get up for people who turn up late or have to go loo in middle of movie. And people texting And talking

Cheeky Vue this was only £13.75 a few weeks ago on there site.

I'd rather wait for the blu ray and chill in my front room and watch it than go to the cinema with people talking, noises from crisp packets etc etc.

Must admit I never got to see the second one nor had chance to watch the DVD yet so thought this would kill two birds...or rather two films with one stone.

Not that I know of. I did see LOTR trilogy back to back about 10 years ago at the IMAX in London and recall them putting on toast and possibly coffee but doubt Vue will although I'm sure they'll happily sell you something!

Get you back to bed quicker if that was the case but looks like it's starting a bit before its general release. Only guessed at that as my Vue is doing a showing at 12:01am but I'm assuming they are starting it a little earlier.

And hence this is colder than the other thread which makes sense. Also depends if you live near a Vue, Cineworld or Empire I guess, I'm working til 5:30pm so certainly only one I could get to intime is my local Vue.

Guantanamo Bay style torture! Why would you put yourself through this?!

Hit the nail on the head. It's the snotty teens talking well in to the film that really winds me up. Complete disregard of other paying patrons.

My set up is a 50" 1080p Samsung Plasma, 2.1 Logitech Sound System with a Subwoofer, Sony Bluray player. Nothing special at all, but i've had it for 7 years now and it does the job nicely with lights dimmed in the room. My next TV upgrade will definitely have to be 60-65" 4K and 3D. I don't really fancy a 5.1 system, quite happy with the 2.1 unless some one can convince me otherwise.

Heat added as a good deal, a pity the films are so awful.
