Dr. David Banner is a research scientist trying to find a way to tap into the hidden strength that all humans possess. Then, one night in his labratory, an experiment went wrong, causing him to be overexposed to gamma radiation. Now, whenever angered or distressed, the mild-mannered scientist finds himself transforming into a powerful seven-foot green creature known as the Incredible Hulk...

Criss-crossing the country in search of a cure, Banner takes various odd jobs under different aliases. During this odyssey, he tries to avoid the pursuit of investigative reporter Jack McGee, who suspects the Hulk of murder, and who is determined to discover the creature's true identity.

It was £3.93 a few weeks ago but this is the cheapest now

I missed it at £3.93, but a fiver is still a bargain!

Absolute stonking bargain at £5.

Think the first series is a 4 disc (not 6 disc) set but what a cracking deal.....

Great memories of Friday nights, ITV, 1978. Bag of chips and The Incredible Hulk on TV.

Kennth johnson's directors commentary on the pilot is the best i've ever heard. Unlike the vast majority of commentaries where directors ramble their way through, he is excellent and insightful.

E.g. I never realised in the intro to each episode "anger becomes danger" Hulk fans will know what i mean by this!

All he did was ruin a shirt, throw someone against some conveniently stacked cardboard boxes then run away in slow motion then McGee would turn up.

He shorts always fitted though and you won't like him when he's angry.

Still entertaining though but nothing like the comics although he did meet Daredevil and Thor once in some movies. You never saw anyone else from Marvel.

Lol I could remember watching this on a saturday morning on channel 5, class

What made the show great was Bill Bixby's acting - a vastly under - rated ( and forgotten!) actor

Bill Bixby was also the Magician.
