This looks quite good to me, not sure why people are voting cold.

Not sure why people are voting this cold, that's a premium title at a good pre-order price. Very much doubt this will drop in price very quickly as it's a much anticipated release. Have some heat from me mate.

They're voting cold because they're idiots.
HOT & Ordered

yeah hot an i seen blu ray clips for this and it looks fantastic in Blu Ray

Original Poster

HD DVD fanboys?

Voted hot because its a good film/cheapest price but it's a poor Blu Ray release compared to the US version which is the Triple Edition plus includes an additional disc with loads of extras not here.

May well be a special edition shortly, might be why some are voting cold.

Yes - hot & ordered also. Thanks.

Awesome film and supposed to be one of the best transfers you can get on Blu Ray.

Been highly anticipating this release, £12 for pre-order is a bargain.

Would like to know why anyone is voting cold too. But if they are too pussy to say their reasons then let's just leave it as that's why!

Hot+1

If you are going to vote cold at least have the decency to state why!!!! These people should be banned from here!

You can't compare this to the US release. Doing so is stupid.

Yeah the US version is a triple play, but you'll be lucky to get it for under £18 which triggers customs charges. And who cares about the SD DVD and digital copies anyways? It's a nice bonus when the price isn't any different, but paying extra for them is stupid.

Hot! Thanks. Ordered from Tesco Entertainment to get 8% Quidco. At first it comes up as £14.47 but when you click on the product the £12 price is shown.

Great Movie. Heat added

Great deal. Thanks for posting. Ordered and heat added.

Heat added and ordered. Thanks.

Thanks

not really stupid, im a bit of an audiophile and prefer international releases usually even tho i want UK blus when i can!

the us domestic releases usually have the best audio

the european releases usually get given the lesser movie theatre mix to save time and effort and even that usually gets compressed slightly to make room for dubbed tracks in other european languages and then they'll still market them as DTS master audio / pcm even thought its strictly speaking not true!

prime example : the harry potter ultimates

they re did the entire track from the score up and it shows!

Would have thought this would have been released a while back

This is quite a cheap price, but I will try and wait until the BOGOF later in the year (but I'm not sure what I would buy with it as I already own most of the ones I would like...not really into Hannah Montana or Camp Rock etc!)

That's interesting, it used to drive me insane on DVD releases. Especially when the UK versions used to scrap the DTS stream.
Hadn't really thought about it with regard to Blu-ray, but it must be a similar issue.

I wish they'd hurry up and release Nemo, I swear this film is only admired because it's Pixar. It's almost as bad as Cars.

I don't know about anyone else, but I quite like this on it's own merits, and Cars I never decided to watch.

I don't know about how anticipated Nemo may be on Blu-Ray, but I'm sure what is much more anticipated is The Lion King.

how do i add heat and vote

I purchased this from Amazon USA a couple of weeks ago. No custom charges. I order loads of stuff from Amazon USA and never get stung as it all seems to be distributed from Germany (within the E.U.) when I look at the packaging labels.

Anyway, the American version is so much better than this barebones release and for very little more. Same goes for the new extended version of Sucker Punch on Blu Ray (which is region free).

I see your point, I wasn't aware that it was $19.99 (+ P&P) at Amazon US which would still put it below the £18 for all those extras.

(For anyone who does order from Amazon.com instead, make sure you check the 'new' section for the Amazon.com listing, as the one shown on the product page on Amazon.com is for a third-party seller selling it at $39.95)

its £17 at the moment on amazon.com

"only"?! seems pretty expensive for a so so film

Good price for a new release, but a poor release it is. The only special features listed on HMV are the two short films and a director's commentary.

Which sucks really because on the American blu I'd love to see these NEW bonuses:
The Incredibles Revisted (1.78:1; 1080p/24; 0:22.09) – A roundtable discussion with Writer/Director Brad Bird, Producer John Walker, Story Supervisor Mark Andrews, Supervising Technical Director Rick Sayre, Production Designer Teddy Newton, & Animation Supervisor Tony Fucile.
The New Nomanisan: A Top Secret Redevelopment Plan (1.78:1; 1080p/24) – An interactive look at the redevelopment plans of Syndrome’s secret lair.

There's also all the original special features - most now in HD. The fact they've been 'lost in translation' when they're in the same language is appauling. Bad Disney UK!

its a good price - but i got stung on the last pixar bluray (a bugs life) i paid £12 and now its only £8 and ive not even seen it yet.

ill wait for it to be in the next bogof deal, ill get it and tangled.

Thanks for the info. I too had seen the US issue but was put off by the initial very high price. However decided to go for in now at £17 even though it's currently OOS and they say Estimated delivery July 29, 2011 - August 24, 2011

Reviews well blu-ray.com/mov…96/

cold, £12 is a lot for a blu ray - a good price is normally around £8 as with the current Bee offer for pixar blu rays
Edited by: "wyabcp" 23rd Jun 2011

Watched a fair few Pixar films and this one is by far the worst we've seen. Was urging this to finish when at cinema and so were the kids. Drags on and boring all the way through imo.

not the best film, but cant help ordering it to keep the collection complete!! Heat

As a deaf person, I dislike any Disney releases (and its linked company Buena Vista Home Entertainment) as they never bother to subtitle extra features in English whereabouts in USA - have subtitle. I tend to buy Disney when it is at dirt cheap. Meanie and non deaf friendly. However they kindly subtitle the extra in German, Spanish, Dutch or France! Mmm

HEAT ADDED - GOOD DEAL

There is no pleasing people.

I used to lurk on this site for years and decided to join when the Amazon Lovefilm voucher offer came around. I used to lurk purely because of the members negative attitude. It's this sort of thing that makes me wish I didn't join.

This is a prime example. People have completely missed the point. You won't find a brand new/pre-order Disney/Pixar or any top-tier release for £12 in many places. This is a good deal, regardless of what the yanks have.

A let-down for the US version would be that the Disney Movie Rewards points would be unable to be used, where as you are likey to get 150 points for buying this, which is around 1/6 of the way towards getting another Disney title for free.

This deal might not be for you if you don't like the movie, but that's no reason to vote. Surely if you don't plan on getting it, you can't vote a cold deal for such a good price.

Lighten up folks.

Rubbish.

I still find £12 for a film from 2004 expensive.

Got it on DVD already, would like to upgrade it to Blu-Ray but won't at this price.

yeah but its a 2011 release, you cant base preorder prices onthe age of the film, or we would be expecting the star wars blurays to be 5p each.

i agree in a way - i mean if you have kids etc then the dvd is handy - but if the price difference is 50% again, then im not paying more for stuff i personally would never use.

i have a pile of digital copy dvds on my coffee table i use as coasters - total waste of time.

Heat added and ordered. This is not only one of the best pixar films, its also one of my fave films of all time. Thanks o/p.

Nice to hear-The Incredibles must be one of the best from the Pixar stable. Love the way it starts like an edgier Simpsons and soon takes off into another world. To mention it in the same breath as one joke Nemo (yep, that sort memory joke is a killer) is beyond me. Up there with Monsters Inc and not far behind Toy Story in my world.

Also waiting for Nemo. Hopefully they are taking their time to do a good transfer!
