To mark 30 years since the release of U2’s fifth studio album The Joshua Tree, an anniversary edition of the seminal record will be released by Island Records on 2nd June 2017.

Alongside the 11-track album, the super deluxe collector’s edition includes a live recording of The Joshua Tree

Tour 1987 Madison Square Garden concert; rarities and B-sides from the

album’s original recording sessions; as well as 2017 remixes from Daniel

Lanois, St Francis Hotel, Jacknife Lee, Steve Lillywhite and Flood;

Edge during the original Mojave Desert photo session in 1986.

Released to universal acclaim on 9th March 1987 and featuring hit

singles “With Or Without You”, “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking

For” and “Where The Streets Have No Name”, The Joshua Tree went to #1 in

the U.K, U.S., Ireland and around the world, selling in excess of 25

million albums, and catapulting Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry

Mullen Jr “… from heroes to superstars” (Rolling Stone). Time Magazine

put U2 on its cover in April 1987, proclaiming them “Rock’s Hottest

Ticket” and the 12 months that followed saw U2 create iconic moments

including the traffic-stopping Grammy Award-winning “Where The Streets

Have No Name” video on the roof of a Los Angeles liquor store, and go on

to win a BRIT Award and two Grammys - including Album of the Year -

their first of 22 received to date; as well as a triumphant return home

for four unforgettable shows in Belfast, Dublin and Cork in the summer

of 1987.

This collector’s boxset includes:
7 pieces of original, live and unreleased recordings on 12” 180gsm vinyl:

- The Joshua Tree 2007 double album (gatefold)
- Live from Madison Square Garden 1987 double album (gatefold)

Anton Corbijn colour prints.

I twitted this deal to diff u2 fan groups, hopefully increases the heat

Thanks OP
I took the plunge and went for it. I like amazons autorip. It’s handy. The auto rip from this is only the two disc cd version. There’s no live concert or remixes. Amazon told me that they would take the autorip off the listing but it’s still there.

I’d say most people don’t look near the autorip to be honest.

The boxset does include mp3 download. I haven’t opened my boxset yet to find just how much of the content comes with the mp3.

Of course i like my vinyl, but in this day and age digital is handy for many reasons.

I have to say upon opening it. The book of photos have all the photos printed upside down. The books starts normal. Credits etc, then upside down photos. I wonder if all sets are the same. The lps sound good. Really good.

Oh, complain to amazon and they should offer partial refund, exchange or a return for a full refund. I claimed a partial refund.

I never understand why they only offer mp3 downloads ..if you're spending this much on vinyl you'd expect to be getting lossless.

Well yes that would be the ticket. I just meant the digital format over all. I do hate mp3. Never mind what you’re spending on the music. They should always offer the best format for quality, but I believe the majority of people are oblivious to it all.
I still have the original vinyl album....... showing my age

was never a fan of tapes, only bought it as they had run out of vinyl and CDs, so only had the tape left

but hey, I've their autographs, which makes it worth more to me, even if I've never played it

Why would you expect to receive lossless files? Buy lossless.3) Be grateful to amazon in that you're getting a digital version at all, at their loss. Most companies don't offer such feature.

Nothing to do with Amazon, I'm talking about the code in the box. It's simply a zip file stored on a shared drive.
Cost is nothing to implement.
Also songs of experience box set €38.99 pounds
