Acer R11 Touch. Chromebook £189.99 from £229.99. Great little machine for all your internet needs. This is soon to get the playstore added to the growing list of web apps, so this is a great tablet replacement and the screen also flips over to give you full touch screen.

Got a funny CPU in it?

Got a funny CPU in it?

no not really but its neither here nor there, The MS store have an acer inspire tablet in that has a slightly slower cpu but more storage, detachable keyboard turing it into a tablet and Windows for £150 can't see this competing

Cheaper at Argos.
Ooh, that 16gb of onboard storage.
Son has the 500gb Windows version for an extra £20.
PC world I think wife had it from.

 Relevance?
The storage on this sucks.
Or does it not?
Wouldn't put up with that in a phone, but that's just me.

Ooh dear indeed (_;)
Most web apps are on the cloud so the 16gb is unaffected plus you can expand with as SD card/ Hard drive or USB stick. this device will not slow down after a year like a typical PC.

It also won't run native win apps.
Whereas you could probably emulate the Android OS this version probably runs on.
But I do agree on the expandable storage, IIRC, there's an SD slot on the back of the keyboard.
Just at an extra cost of an SD card.

And slow down after a year? Please don't do that.
Son's is like 8 months old, besides the rubbish he does on it, I dl n burn his xgd3 games via a Sony Optiarc burner.
Runs fine, not keen on the touchpad though, often doesn't distinguish between left click and right click.
He's happy, not a great processor, plays Angry Birds, Minecraft.
If you're just after web browsing, there are much cheaper options.
From the other cold votes, lot of hatred for Chromebooks.
I'm not going to try and defend Chromebooks. Some people won't like them. I think it's a good price for a laptop with built in antivirus a free office suite that is maintains free. I didn't want a tablet as they can't play flash so that ruled out my math etc for my little sister and this can. I find Windows bulky and slow unless you get the spec that works well and a Mac is £800 so I think only time will tell how they sell in the future. I quite like them
