Forget everything you know about The Legend of Zelda games. Step into a world of discovery, exploration, and adventure in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, a boundary-breaking new game in the acclaimed series. Travel across vast fields, through forests, and to mountain peaks as you discover what has become of the kingdom of Hyrule In this stunning Open-Air Adventure. Now on Nintendo Switch, your journey is freer and more open than ever. Take your system anywhere, and adventure as Link any way you like.

Features:

  • Explore the wilds of Hyrule any way you like—anytime, anywhere! - Climb up towers and mountain peaks in search of new destinations, then set your own path to get there and plunge into the wilderness. Along the way, you'll battle towering enemies, hunt wild beasts and gather ingredients for the food and elixirs you'll make to sustain you on your journey. With Nintendo Switch, you can literally take your journey anywhere.
  • More than 100 Shrines of Trials to discover and explore - Shrines dot the landscape, waiting to be discovered in any order you want. Search for them in various ways, and solve a variety of puzzles inside. The tasks you must perform in each Shrine varies, and you'll never expect the challenges you'll face until you enter. Some will involve realistic physics, and some will require you to harness the power of nature, including electricity, wind, fire, and more. Work your way through the traps and devices inside, utilizing your runes and think outside the box to earn special items and other rewards that will help you on your adventure.
  • Be prepared and properly equipped – With an entire world waiting to be explored, you'll need a variety of outfits and gear to reach every corner. You may need to bundle up with warmer clothes or change into something better suited to the desert heat. Some clothing even has special effects that, for example, can make you faster or stealthier.
  • Battling enemies requires strategy – The world is inhabited with enemies of all shapes and sizes. Each one has its own attack method and weaponry, so you must think quickly and develop the right strategies to defeat them.
  • amiibo compatibility – The Wolf Link amiibo from Twilight Princess HD, the Zelda 30th Anniversary series amiibo, and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild series amiibo are all compatible with this game. Tap the Wolf Link amiibo (sold separately) to make Wolf Link appear in the game. Wolf Link will attack enemies on his own and help you find items you’re searching for. Tap a Zelda 30th Anniversary series amiibo to receive helpful in-game items or even a treasure chest!

Heat! For those voting cold because its from another eshop region, maybe consider learning the region swap method as you can get games at cracking prices!

Great game worth it. Brought from Other regions. No problems.
Expansion pass coming up around a tenner also in SA store!

Zelda BOTW and expansion pass for circa £45!
Bought it the other day off ebay for £30 but this is still a steal! Minimum for the physical game is about 40 to 45. Heat

I also got the DLC cheap from another region (probably South Africa) and works a treat with the U.K. cart.
What a game Thanks for sharing @jco83
When it comes to the region swap? Is it as simple as changing it from UK to South Africa? Or are there any other steps needed?
No, that should be it. Going to the UK shop will usually convert the £ value to Rand, if not just go to the .co.za eShop instead

It's pretty simple, you just have to remember that any credit will disappear so make sure you don't have any money left on your account before changing.

An alternative is to make another account for the region and add that to your Switch. As long as you just have the one Switch it will let you play with either account (as both will use that console as the master account).

Paypal will check address/region so you won't be able to use that. Best to get credit from somewhere like Gamivo (see their regular 10-20% off codes on here) or use a card that can be used cross region.

No such thing as South African eShop top up
Is the expansion pack worth it? What does it give you?

was speaking generally, but wasn't aware you can't get specific credit for SA
do you lose any of the coins you have on your account when you switch region? or will they be there when you switch back?

No but you can't transfer them between regions either. They just stay on there until you switch back (excuse the pun).

This is a really poor showing from Nintendo IMHO though. It should be lower priced than this on the UK store let alone in less developed regions.
Is there not going to be issues with it being another store in regards to payment? I had to buy a US gift card from a site to redeem first otherwise my card errored as it was issued in another country.

America and Japan are different. They compare card regions rather than countries so to buy anything from the US store using a card you need a bank card from Canada or the US.
Thanks to @BuzzDuraband for add info

No. South Africa is part of Nintendo Of Europe

I'm pretty sure I have region swapped and used paypal?
But regardless, you can definitely use your own card for the likes of South Africa, Norway, Russia...
Only one I've had to buy credit for was the US store (which is a bit of a nuisance in it's own right, when swapping back).

Probably a stupid question but if you change back to UK after purchase can you still play the game or is it locked to SA?

yeah, no I think you're right to a point. Some of them allow it (which is great!), others will restrict you to topped up credit or allow your own card.
I can't remember offhand which is which though, so best to not rely on it I guess.

You can mix regions for different games, but the DLC must come from the same region as the game (if the game was downloaded in an EU store, so must the DLC)

Not sure if can use PayPal for SA. But PayPal charge like 4% for foreign currency transactions *(unless you don't have PP do the conversion), so better of using Revolut
