Yeah, I've been eyeing this offer for a while... I'm going to buy the season pass at some point, it's just a matter of when and how.

Only the Switch
Would you buy the switch just to play Zelda? Or is it not worth it?
Just defeated CG. Best Buy this now in prep for hard mode.

Me? Yes. Certainly. If I had the spare cash. I've got it on the Wii U so it doesn't matter if I don't have a Switch. It's really rekindled my love for gaming. I've not been this involved in a single player game in years. It's a remarkable world and an enthralling experience

I'll have to sneak one in when my wife is not paying attention in that case!
Thank you for the post and the discount code link. No pun intended
To people who think Zelda BOTW is over hyped, its not, Its reminded me how much I used to enjoy games.
no point getting season pass now, you get some pretty tat items 1 ruby, 5 bomb arrows and a **** nintendo switch t shirt for link, thats the best nintendo could come up with to entice you to buy it early lmao, so much cooler items they could have given like ganandords ocarina of time outfit for link to wear thats from the top of my head

It depends on the person, but only the die hards would really do that. If you already have a Wii U then the switch version isn't going to be that different. Personally I'm waiting for more games to come and hoping the price drops later in the year.

I mean.. The Switch literally only has 2 games worth playing right now that are original to the system past the Wiiu, Snipperclips, and Zelda. It depends entirely on how big of a fan you are of the series, and how much disposal income you have. Personally I bought a Wiiu ages ago and Zelda is completely the same on the Wiiu as on the Switch.

It's hard to explain to someone who doesn't own one but the portability of the switch and different ways to play is an absolute game changer.
Agreed Wii U version is almost identical but the Switch is just a cool device. Havent played my Vita or PS4 since I got it. Really is a game changer as a hybrid console. I had pretty much given up on Ninty but Zelda rekindled my love of gaming and reminded me of the N64 (gew quality releases, get the best out of each game between release dates). Sold my Wii U and will ne selling the Vita so it didnt really cost me any extra cash. Dont regret my purchase and will be getting this pass.

depends on circumstances, i don't get to go on console much, it's under TV, and i cant really take over that in the evening. Switch has been a godsend, can just crash on bed and play. I've played about 40 hours of Zelda, on my wiiu would have been 5-10 max. i think its a brilliant bit of kit......70 games in development and lots of RPGs

I'm an Xbox gamer, have been for years. Last Nintendo console I owned was the Gamecube.
Got the Switch with Zelda last week. No regrets.
Totally worth getting a Switch just for Zelda, I haven't gamed on my Xbox One since getting it, despite the fact that up to the launch of the Switch I was putting in serious time on Skyrim. I can't remember the last time I was as immersed in a game as I am in Zelda. There is so much to do, such a big world to explore, and you can approach it all however you want. I also bought Snipperclips which is well worth £15 of anyone's money. As someone who is yet to play Shovel Knight, that will be my next purchase, along with Fast RMX. Whilst there is criticism regarding the lack of launch games for the Switch, the fact that Zelda is one of them not only means you'll not be short of stuff to play (I can't stress enough how large the game world is), but that it has (in my mind) the best launch title of all time. As a few people have said already, the Switch is a game changer.
Got for the deal too, thanks OP.
Don't forget you can get Quidco cash back for CDKeys purchases too. I had a nightmare with my Zelda physical pre-order (Argos sent to wrong address) so I ended up going digital, and between the discount code and cash back I only ended up paying around £2 more, which for the convenience of digital I thought was well worth it.
I'm not sure why people keep expecting a price drop by the end of the year if it keeps selling well no chance it's gonna be cheaper I still don't think the wii u has dropped in price yet ,people just expecting Nintendo to fail

I'd say yes, based on my own experience (thus far). Visit any reputable videogame review website if you don't take my word for it.

Besides, said Switch investment will not just be for Zelda alone. Many games are already announced due this year, retail, indie and the like.

Does the WiiU version not support OffTV play?

I've never been a Zelda fan or a big Nintendo apart from n64 when I was kid. I'm so glad I got Zelda it's just so fun to play.. being a new dad as well it's a great pick up n play and put down and carry on later.
I'd recommend the game for switch but get for Wii U version if you have one already.

It's such a good game you have to play it somehow. If you don't have a Wii U then yes, maybe? Though buying a cheap Wii U would be a more sensible option if you're just going to play at home because that has a ton of fantastic exclusive games and the only exclusive for now that the Switch has is Snipperclips. If you do have a Wii U, just get it on that because it's identical.

Same here.

I don't want to lock myself in the bedroom when the wife wants to watch a bit of tv so bringing this downstairs to sit with her is great.

I took it to my in-laws last night to show her brother, etc. When waiting for dinner I literally put it in table top mode and carried on from where I saved it at home.

Was on the train back from London last week and the guy in the seat in front was reading a Switch article. When he walked past me to go to the toilet he did a double take when I was sat back with the joycons out playing Zelda.

Excellent bit of kit.
Knew I shouldn't have bough this straight away!! Oh well... At least I've had the switch T-Shirt in game (which I haven't used) for a few extra day...
Nice find OP
Bought. I love my Switch.

It does. I think the Wii U pad and Switch screen are about the same size.
I tried playing on the Wii U pad and found it too small for such a big game.

Yes it does. You must choose to play on TV or the gamepad. You can hotswap during play by simply tapping the gamepad screen. I play using the Wii U pad and it works great

Low res on gamepad (480p) doesn't help. Suspect this will be very playable on switch screen however.
Cheapest I've seen this thanks op8)

It plays fine and looks amazing on the Switch screen.

I'd wait, I have a switch and it's a decent device.

If you really want to play Zelda on the move, get the Switch.

If you're happy playing it on a TV, Wii U is fine.
I don't get the comments recommending getting a wii u to play this. why spend £200 approx (yes it's STILL that much) on a for all intents and purposes a dead console when you could spend a bit more and get a brand new console? plus i would imagine all the decent wii u games will be getting ported to switch at some point (like mario kart

Yes. Nintendo not only made possibly the best game ever, they also made a new handheld console so you can play it anywhere. That combination is really an incredible achievement if you ask me. The quality and attention to detail in Zelda is just amazing. Not only that but it is absolutely massive.

Exactly, getting a Wii U at this point is crazy.
