£44 for a game that's almost 3 years old?

Lol, you must be new to the gaming scene. Or never played a Nintendo game. Or something else.

I hear ya brother, I hear ya
Amazing game, I managed to pick it up a month ago from a local Facebook ad new for £35. I'd definitely pay £44 for it because it really deserves it!
Set up an alert on ebay for newly listed sealed copies. Sometimes people sell them with a cheap BIN. I got a sealed copy with postage for £35 this time last year. Voting hot cos this is by far the best Switch game. And I had never played a Zelda game before.
Such an amazing game I’m loving it atm heat added

Do you have to be on pc/latop version of eBay to add specific things to your alerts?

I've seen a fair few of them around £35 even though that's still overpriced for games as old as this. Anyway my point was that it's laughable that anyone would think this is a deal.

Zelda is open world you can go do other stuff and come back to the boss later. Every boss has a strat, you probably just need the right armour / weapon
Used to love zelda on SNES and game cube. Tried to get my lad to get this as he plays some similar type games on his phone but he won't budge for some reason. He will be missing out. I'll just have to get my own copy and console
It's a deal if it's the cheapest around!
Not a great price tho tbh . Also I would say the game isn't as great as reviewed , it's not bad and the world is the star as it looks great and there always is something to pick up /animal to catch so on and the puzzle shrines are amazing. But there are too many annoying features like a main city you have to change your cloths just to enter every time ,the stupid korok that moves so you struggle to find it when you have seeds to upgrade , the constantly repeating shrine with the robot , the rain , the enemy variety which mostly consists of about 3 of which there is no reward for killing other than weapons that probably weren't as good as the weapons you broke killing them .
I still played it for about 75 hours and enjoyed it but imo it's not anything that amazing
3 year old game for £40+?

I'll pass.
Probably the same pointless people rating it cold because “it’s still x amount and it’s an old game.” Regardless of the fact that yes, it is an old game and yes it is still expensive so any money off for the people who want to buy it IS STILL A DEAL.

The site is called hotukDEALS not hotukpriceatthemoment.
Just introduced my daughter to this game to get her off they garbage tablet games that practically reward you for nothing! I didn't think she would like it but has become slightly obsessed. I know it's an older game but I don't mind the price simply because I only buy first party games.

Great game but not a great deal.

Many would argue that this is one of a few games in history, that is worth every penny at full RRP price.

So even a small saving, is fantastic.

But this site doesn't believe in "best current price as a deal" in general, hence my prediction of it going cold in the description when I posted it.

You're wrong.

I paid £23 for my copy of A Plague Tale and that was worth every penny.

I also paid £40 for my copy of Gravity Rush 2 and that was worth every penny.

But those games are old now, and I wouldn't pay £23 and £40 for either of those two games.

RRP applies when a product is just released. After that, it's expected for the product to depreciate in value. Not be propped up by the manufacturer's inability to drop prices

There are newer games on the market. More options that are worthy of one's time.

Trying to justify the £40+ price of a 3 year old game as a result of the publisher's price gouging tactics seems kind of sad tbh.

I believe Horizon Zero Dawn can be had for around £15 nowadays. One of the very best games on the PS4 (or any system for that matter). You don't see people trying to defend it if it happened to still be going for £40.

I didn't like horizon zero dawn personally.

Witcher 3 is another game I'd happily pay £50 for, as that game deserves it.

Personally I don't believe any game (except a select few) are worth full RRP.

Like every Fifa each year.. £50.. ridiculous.

A lot of people argue that Witcher 3 is one of the very best games of this entire generation. I haven't played it personally. I bought my copy for around £25 (if memory serves me correctly). It's still sealed.

It's my favourite game ever made so far.

But breath of the wild is also known as the best game on the Switch, and is probably the highest rated amongst critics and fans too.

So that's why the price is so high, it sells extremely well still, 3 years on.

So funny!
This costs £30+ more than the complete edition of Horizon Zero Dawn despite releasing in the same year.

The only conclusion I can reach is that Nintendo hates us.

Many first party Nintendo games hold there prices some even rocket in price when out of production.

They do, but they only do so because Nintendo never allow the RRP to drop like every single other game publisher does.

Personally I consider that to be a pretty anti-consumer tactic myself.

If they didn't sell, they wouldn't be as expensive.

Clearly Nintendo are happy with the profits they are making with the current prices.

But let's make one thing clear: First party nintendo games tend to be extremely good, and are worth the price.
Massively overrated. It feels like a pilgrimage going from one shrine to another. Cold.

So you believe Horizon, God of War and Spider-Man didn't sell?

How about Red Dead Redemption 2?

Maybe even something recent like Jedi Fallen Order?

All are lower in price than almost any first party Nintendo game.

It isn't just down to the games selling and you know that, when it's something that only occurs with one single publisher then the common theme lies with them, not the sales of the games.
