Release date: 3 March 2017.

  • Suitable for the Nintendo Wii U.
Explore the wilds of Hyrule any way you like—anytime, anywhere! - Climb up towers and mountain peaks in search of new destinations, then set your own path to get there and plunge into the wilderness. Along the way, you'll battle towering enemies, hunt wild beasts and gather ingredients for the food and elixirs you'll make to sustain you on your journey.

Be prepared and properly equipped – With an entire world waiting to be explored, you'll need a variety of outfits and gear to reach every corner. You may need to bundle up with warmer clothes or change into something better suited to the desert heat. Some clothing even has special effects that, for example, can make you faster or stealthier.

amiibo compatibility – The Wolf Link amiibo from Twilight Princess HD, the Zelda 30th Anniversary series amiibo, and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild series amiibo are all compatible with this game. Tap the Wolf Link amiibo (sold separately) to make Wolf Link appear in the game. Wolf Link will attack enemies on his own and help you find items you're searching for. Tap a Zelda 30th Anniversary series amiibo to receive helpful in-game items or even a treasure chest!

  • For ages 12 years and over.

Thought it was Switch for a moment. Would’ve been smoking hot.
Good Price, now do I pick one up just to keep for 20 years to resell it for 40 quid in 2040 ?

Possibly, still have my mint copy of Twilight Princess somewhere (GameCube). Surprisingly the portable LCD screen I bought as a novelty seems to have risen in value more than anything else from that console era.

Funny you mention that game, I was haggling with someone the other day about a brand new sealed copy they had of it on the Gamecube, in the end i got it for 45 sealed from them, but they for some reason thought it was an NTSC copy, when it arrived it was PAL.
I can remember people were all buying this game and holding onto it as an investment due to it being the last wii U games. If anything the price has plummeted

I sold mine for £25 when I bought the Switch version
On Wii U the frames where dropping under 30 frames in heavy fight, so I was just dying and give up on it.
Boss fight with 20 frames was a nightmare. Will just play it on PC emulator
Last game I played on my Wii U. Pushed it to the limit, but what a game!!

I paid about £4 for Gadget Racers on eBay during the early Wii era, sadly not sealed. I sold it to CEX for £60 cash about a year ago and they are now giving £75 and selling for £130.

Feel like an idiot for getting rid of a tonne of my rarer GC games :’(

I'd forgotten all about Gadget Racers though distinctly remember that cover from my time working in retail, I'd never have predicted seeing that again at today's prices!

Whilst I do regret selling various titles & hardware it was necessary at the time, fortunately I can now revisit most via emulation which I find more precious than their shelf value.
"A sensible price"

It's almost 3 years old and on a dead console, this price is shocking!

This amazing game has frame drops (at times) on the Switch as well - often in different places, as reported by digital foundry. Its still a great game with this flaw. And certainly even worth getting a Wii U for (around £70). No way would I want to play this on a Switch Lite on that small screen, it needs the option of playing on a larger. screen to get the best out of it.

I’d say the resolution kills this game the most on the Wii U, when viewing on a 4K tv. I bought a Wii U but was disappointed in its power. Have now also got this set up on PC, great game

Wind Waker on the Wii U was un playable at times with the frame rate drops, not surprised the console was binned

looked and played fine on a 4K tv. Played for 90 hours so far and not enough frame rates issues to make it “unplayable” each to their own..

I found the experience poor (not unplayable) on a high quality 4k TV & a game like this deserves better IMO, at least a Switch if you have the means. The resolution impacted the enjoyment for me, before I even got to any framerate issues

The Wii U actually outputs at 480p which is pretty low.

- Saying all that if you want to play this game for little money the Wii U is probably the only way.

you are wrong the Wii U outputs 720p (Breath of the wild) and some games are 1080p.

It outputs Wii emulation at 480p

Sounds like you had the Wii U setup to output at 480p

Hmm perhaps I did because it looked pretty bad to me A combination of low resolution and low / non existent AA. Legend of blurry jaggies

No worries, Im a Nintendo & Zelda fan much like you no doubt, I guess I personally felt it wasn't the best experience, that's all & I thought it might be a better on the Switch. I read a little more myself & other people are dissatisfied with Anti Aliasing in Nintendo games on both Wii U & Switch. I think this is what I experienced, just putting my point out there that's all. People can make there own minds up

Happy gaming!

Yeah totally right i love Nintendo, will get a switch in the future... I think the Wii U was very underrated. But Nintendo always seem to make underpowered consoles... will be interested to see if these rumours of a Switch Pro turn out true
