I want this but can’t justify and extra £30 for a steel book and art book.

Err... no. Having lived (and bought stuff like this) for over 20 years, I can assure you 90% of special/limited/collectors editions end up as effectively worthless. Remember when steelbooks came out. People were buying them for £25/£30 and advising people to stick them in their loft and wait 10 years. £5/£10 on eBay now for 90% of them.

By all means buy this to enjoy it. But don't buy it as an investment.
Wait, isn't this just the RRP? If so then according to new site rules it shouldn't be a deal then and would be a discussion thread instead?

Heat from me. At least this is the (hard to obtain ) rrp and not anything beyond that as you witness nowadays.

Agree with above. This is getting rarer and rarer at even rrp.

I’ve got £55 in amazon credit, if it comes back in stock I’ll bite.

Seems like 365games have really set the bar low lol

Very nice! Missed the very deal but this was a steal

So then it isn't a deal...why the heat?

- technically.
Finally got one!
So happy I saw this right now as I was already putting in my CC details on 365games.
Buying the game but skipping this one. Extras don’t justify the outlay for me. I’d never sell it, so £35 (for me) extra for a steelbook and an art book is too steep.

Roll on Friday though.

I just hope they deliver. I had issues last time I used a discount code for Pokémon let's go
There seems to be a incoming storm as all Ninty bought and paid for review sites are giving this game flying colours with no issues at all, yet the embargo on the game won't be lifted until one day before launch and some normal reviews by non Ninty affiliates are stating the games has some awful performance issues and the FPS are all over the place, but no one in the gaming press is reporting it........so it should be fun to watch. lol

Highly doubtful. If it was awful I'm sure Nintendo would have delayed it. It's not as if the release schedule is bare. Why risk damaging their reputation on a flagship series?

This is true for most but Nintendo stuff especially zelda hold their price and generally increase. Tbh I wouldn't be surprised to see this selling for over £200 around the holidays
Istanbul_Kop17/09/2019 17:06

1. Its Nintendo and zelda.
2. It was oos and hard to come by without paying scalpers in ebay so when it came back in stock it gets heat.

As you suggest not technically a deal as its rrp but it's a deal for those who were going to buy from ebay I suppose 😁
Edited - Sorry, I didn't realise that it was out of stock at Game although listed as a pre-order.

Yet bizarrely I got a message back from the mods stating "It appears to be more than this price elsewhere" and the deal is allowed to stand which makes no sense whatsoever. By that logic then everything should be allowed to be posted as a deal on here then, I'm not sure why eBay scalpers selling things for over the odds means that a pre-release item at its standard RRP means that this is somehow a "Hot Deal". Does that mean that I can post this as a deal from Game then as they are also selling it at its standard RRP? More proof that all voting logic goes out of the window when it comes to video game "deals" on here, especially from certain brands. I bet they'll have this supposed hard to find limited edition set stacked up to the ceiling at every branch of Game when it launches.[Image] [Image] https://www.game.co.uk/en/the-legend-of-zelda-links-awakening-limited-edition-2388628

You must be fun at parties.
CloudHeaven17/09/2019 17:55

But why are you so bothered?

It's nothing personal against this game, it's more to do with the rules and moderation on this site as to what is and isn't considered or allowed as a deal. It seems to be inconsistent and vary depending on what is being posted or sometimes who has posted posted it. I thought the recent rule changes meant that items posted at their RRP were not allowed as deals.
Royal_Poodle17/09/2019 18:04

Plus Game don't have any stock

Sorry, I didn't realise that. I saw it listed as a pre-order on there and just thought it was a regular release day launch, I missed where it said that this item was out of stock.
the fact that not only should this game not be 40 pounds period but they are also charging 30 more for some book and plastic makes this probably one of the biggest ripoffs ever but im still gonna buy it

Best comment ever and absolutely true

Its a life long fallacy that Nintendo items are going to be worth a fortune one day and its just not true. I purchased a brand new special edition RE4 Gamecube in 2001 and kept it sealed. I sold it in 2017... made £150 profit. Is it really worth it? I dont think so.

I also have owned and sold a brand new/sealed original Wii and brand new/sealed Gameboy Player for the Gamecube. Made, in my opinion, small profits.

Yes you will see bonkers listings on eBay like £900 for a Wii U, but they are exactly that, just listings and not sales. When you come to sell these items for real I promise youll come go realise its not the financial promised land you thought it was.

Dont waste your money or time.

Nintendo is only good to pre order and shift just before release or just after, when stock is unavailable. However as others have said the most likely scenario, is that stock will magically appear when every man and his dog realise they’re not limited. The problem is too many people buy Nintendo stuff to sell on, so eBay is flooded with them for months. Unless there was no other stock produced (which there always is, look at the amiibo market) the game and its extras will just about hold its value.

it really is very luck based, some do go up in price, look at fire emblem on gamecube, but most either retain launch price or go down crazy, even metroid prime legacy went back down to rrp which is when i bought it a few months ago for my 3ds collection, this will probably be at 90 but may go to 80 or 70 at the end of it al

You don't need to take my word for it, google is your friend, there are one or two video left that have not been hit by Ninty strikes over this last week on various sites, YT still has one or two......and previews for the game starting last week and none of the big reviews sites that got to see the preview mentioned any performence issues at all, but over the last week the issues has been leaking out from some places.........but you only got 2 days to go then you will know for sure.

I imagine there will be a day one patch like with most releases these days, so I'm not worried
