Is this too complicated for a 5 year old?

I got it on my Gameboy pocket when I was 10, but couldn't beat it until I was 13. My cousin had to show me where to find the damn feather that allows you to jump.

Then again, that was pre-internet times...

I would say so. There is a fair amount of back tracking and reading hints to know where to go next.

The game play is easy enough though.

This game definitely isn't for "babies", there's a lot of logic based puzzles for young children.

If you have the online service you should be able to download the SNES classic range for free and let your 5 year old try the original.

Not complicated control wise, but some moderately tricky puzzles / bosses along the way. If they're ever going to get to the end you'll need to guide them and step in. My 7 year old lost interest pretty quickly - mainly because it's nothing like Breath of the Wild - but his 43 year Dad loved it. It took me about 14 hours to complete at a leisurely pace.

No children are going to be interested in snes classics, as soon as they see the graphics and point of view they'll lose interest

Aye too busy on fortnite
This game was such a bummer to me. The performance ruins it. It's abnormal for Nintendo who usually nail performance in their genes but the constant fps drops are too jarring for me. Waited and waited for a patch but nothing has arrived yet.

Yeah I feel the same. Need to go back to it but every time the performance takes a hit it just bums me out a little as the switch should really be handling an old Gameboy game with ease. I don't know what happened to their quality assurance with this one...it just feels rushed out when it didn't need to be.
It's doubtful they'll patch it now...besides the frame rate drops only happen to a handful of copies...last time I mentioned them on a post here I was informed by the Nintendo faithful that their versions barely ever witnessed any frame rate issues, so why should Nintendo bother?

I believe downloaded copies suffer the drops less often, but they still occur. It's a data streaming issue of some sort. Unfortunately I bought the Limited Edition physical version. It also depends how much you notice things like framerate drops - for me I can't miss it so it really hurts the experience which really sucks!

The game was developed by Grezzo rather than Nintendo. Grezzo has mostly worked on remakes for the 3DS so this being their first Switch game they likely didn't have the knowledge to optimise it and for some reason, Nintendo didn't care enough to fix it themselves.

A lot of developers that previously worked exclusively on Nintendo handhelds seem to have had some trouble moving over to Switch, much like the developers who switched from SD to HD back in 2006 for the PS3/X360 generation.

Yup, played it for 4 hours or so then went and traded it in for cash at CeX getting all of my money back. Wouldn't recommend it if you're at all sensitive to framerate drops, it was headache-inducing for me.
