Not if your doing anything with the saddle or handlebars. Its also a lot more comfortable doing longer jobs stood up than crouched down. These stands are a steal at this price, really nice quality!

There's only two things I would want this stand for..... dropping the forks (something I've never needed to do) and adjusting the gears. So I just wouldn't get enough use from it to justify buying one.
Someone who owns a few bikes and builds bikes to their personal spec, then I could see the benefit of having this.

Great...post it on here so I definitely have to get to a LIDL at 8am to get one......

Got one of these last time and they're extremely good value for money. For heavier bikes it's not the best but for £30 you can't complain.

This bike stand is great value for £30. I have had one for over 1 year and for the money its great.

I use this stand on my 3 bikes, Hard Tail, Full Suspension and Hybrid.

Its really only good enough for home use as the clamps are not that strong. so if you bike is heavy at one end you will find that the bike will droop at that end.

But it has made my life easier with servicing my bikes and adjusting the gears. Without a work stand like this, the latter would be such a chore.

If you tinker with your own bikes then this is a must have for £30.

I also find my stand brilliant for cleaning off the bike after a day of riding and i have an Orange Five which by any means is not a light bike and have no problems with the stand.

Oh and turning the bike upside down only damages my saddle which costs much more than this bargain stand.

I sanded the tube the clamp is on, and made it much better.

I got one last year, very handy tool.

Looks really good for someone like me who likes to work at a comfortable height . Shame I don't have a bike really .

Don't turn it upside for those jobs.

Don't be so rough or place a towel under it.

Pretty much going rate for eBay. £33 (delivered) stand there is almost identical and would save the petrol used going specially to Lidl if you don't have one nearby.

Workstands are great and have many uses. If you only have a BSO from Tesco or Sports Direct then don't bother but a proper cyclist will always have one.

But your bike will never go faulty.

i think the point is if you are happy for your bike to have a rusty worn chain, worn cassette, badly indexed gears that you can hear coming from about 2 miles away or you prefer to take your bike to halfrauds and give them a tenner to spray some gt85 on it and tighten your brakes then this deal wont be for you. however if you like a well maintained bike this is very useful and a great price.

The point I was making was how will you get to use it if your superior bike never needs servicing.

This doubles up as a Mic stand

Are you really that stupid? All bikes require servicing, even if they are £5000 beasts, just like all cars need servicing. Now run along and play in your paddling pool and leave the adults to have an intelligent discussion.
Great deal OP, couldn't do without mine.

Except you're the ones that keep missing the point.

I bought one of these last year and it is a fantastic piece of kit for anyone who knows their bike stuff. easily comparable, if not better than the basic Park workstand at twice the price

ive just got one of these, perfectly adequate for sorting the gears of a bike which is what i bought it for,and a fraction of the price

hot as had mine for 6 months now its invaluable!

I borrow one and I find it useful, eg for adjusting the gears, as it is difficult to spin the wheel and use the gears especially when the levers are resting on the ground when the bike is upside down.

I'd wait a couple of months and get the revolution one from the Edinburgh bike sale. Its a lot more sturdy.

Got one last year and it lasted about 6 months before the clamp came off and would not tighten enough to stay on following that. Personally wouldn't touch another as I really don't think they are that fit for purpose. I regularly service four bikes so maybe I am expecting too much but a workstand should be capable of a bit more woerk than oiling the chain in my opinion. I picked up the Raleigh one off Evans and used the easily findable fiver off voucher and got it for around 50 notes. Much more solid and a quick release clamp.

A useful reply (sarcasm intended). I found the link and posted it for the benefit of others.

For those who do want to know, you can get this stand in ALDI right now for the same price. Useful if you don't want to wait until Thursday or if you live much closer to an ALDI like me.

...and anyway, I wasn't even asking you so jog on you Muppet.

Funny a hell posts in this thread!
