Do you mean there's something wrong with this version, or you just don't like the films?

It's been previously commented on that the extended versions are a better transfer.......I think that may be the point being made.

For £4 you can't go wrong!

Spotted in Sainsbury's Weston Super Mare, thanks.

bought the extended edition DVDs when they came out. I think I've spent enough on LOTR!

You can if it's not the extended versions... Oh, it is...

The extended trilogy blurays did get a new transfer, but the i prefer the motion picture trilogy cuts if I have to be honest. Surely they can make a bluray set with extended/original cuts selectable at the start

from what I can remember, the transfers aren't as good as the extended.
as for the movies, then they are great. But they are even greater when seen as they the director himself intended them to be watched before being butchered by the powers that be.
who'd want half a set meal when the real delight was meant to be had in the whole? not me

oops missed this response. cheers

Bought in Ashton Under Lyne.

I looked at the price thought 'it's one of those local mistakes/deals' then you said it's national. Then my head exploded. I've had an uber value metldown. To be honest I'm finding it hard to type with no eyes.

Lost count as it was months ago when last posted like i said. Don't really need to check to let a dumb ass know the exact amount. Whatever yourself. Has your carer let you near a PC or phone again. At least the username is perfect. You are a nugget

I've seen both versions of LOTR, and imo, I can see why scenes were cut for theatrical release.
They added a lot more time to the films, and the scenes themselves weren't really needed.

Ffs it lasts about 351 years as it is!

If only that bloody eagle had flown them all the way to mordor in the first movie it would have saved us all a lot of time and bother

This has been £5 before at Sainsburys and I got mine easily when it was posted on here a few months ago. So, great fine OP.

Woah! Totally going to stop in on my way to work to see if I can get a copy - thanks OP!

Great deal, thanks!

They could, but the extra effort is probably not worth it. Casual viewers will buy the regular versions, big fans will buy the EEs, and anyone who really wants both is probably going to be ok with shelling out an extra £4 to have the regular versions as well as the EEs.

Heat added, love it, nice one.
