Have seen some posts on HUKD about whether Merlin were doing a summer sale on the passes this year. Got an email today (actually about Lego Nexo knights 4d movie opening this month at Legoland), and at bottom of it was promo for the summer sale. That links to page above. which in turn has link to FAQs where I got the dates from. No word on prices yet tho.
Thought it might be of use to those thinking of buying passes, so they are ready for the summer, to hold off for a few days! We may great use of our passes last year, so will be defintely looking to get new ones this year!
Couldn't immediately see a link form the merlin pass homepage

One of the FAQs:
Both new and renewing Standard and Premium Merlin Annual Passes can be purchased during the BIG SUMMER SALE. V.I.P. Merlin Annual Passes are also available for purchase from the 30th May to the 30th June – please see V.I.P. FAQs for more information on V.I.P. passes.
been buying the merlin pass for 5 years and I can say that legoland, chessington, thorpe park and alton tower are getting quitter and quitter, 5 years ago the price on sale was only £73 now on sale for £109 that's an increase of £180 for a family of 5. Add to that they took off the drink capsule offer. In a positive side and Having said that I still think we are still getting a value for money at £109 and this get paid off in 2 weeks with 1 visit to each theme park and free parking for the premium pass. Will i buy it next year. Sure I will until the kids grow out of it. got mine this year in January sale.
if you have certain number of shares in Merlin group then you get 40% on these. May be worth buying the shares if you buy these every year.

was interested myself - link here http://www.merlinentertainments.biz/shareholder-benefits
apparently you need to have minimum of 317 this year (I guess it changes year on year to account for share price). at current share price of £4.20 thats a portfolio of about £1330 needed.
Your stockbroker or nominee company (if you don't own the shares directly) need to participate as they need to send you a code. wonder if TD direct investing do (as i use them! :))
Don't forget that if you have tesco club card points, 50 pounds worth gets you an annual pass
Doe anyone know how much are going to cost/pp the premium family passes during the sale?

premium family passes are £129/pp in the sale - about 24% discount...
Better still if you get manage to get cheap £10, discounted tickets etc , once in the park it is £85 pp for family ticket for premium. They assume u have paid the full admission so knock that off the 129 pp
Hi, when the membership period starts ? If i ordered and collect and visit in august will the annual membership starts from august or today ?
Topcashback - buy your pass via the sealife centre or dungeons website then you get 11%cashback.

You will have to collect your pass from the sealife centre or the dungeons, but have to do this within six months of purchase.

I think you can activate your pass without having to go to sealife but this means that your pass is activated immediately. (If you are thinking of going to a merlin attraction later in the year, then I recommend that you collect from the attraction)

I did this when I purchased in the sale last year and got cashback.

Top tip: buy ONE premium pass -if you have this then you do not have to pay for parking at the merlin attractions. (Buy the other passes for your family as standard passes).

Quidco 10% discount via sealife
Mwmtech Do they not check your receipt? As I tried to do that at longleat but they checked my receipt , as I had used tesco vouchers I didn't get any discount on a membership
We did it at Alton Towers yesterday and they did not check our receipts We used sun vouchers for two (free) for two us and 40 odd quid for the third ticket. They knocked off 45 quid of each premium pass!

Can anyone tell me if the ticket holders have to be present when you purchase the passes whilst at Alton Towers. Our two young boys are both in school this week (hubby and I are teachers and are both off work so we're considering a trip to Alton Towers tomorrow. However, we want to purchase 4 Family Annual passes. Can we do this without our boys with us?
I purchased in the January sale £357 for 3 premium passes and already had £1500 worth of use in 2 months!

So don't do London in August or bank holidays.

There are 5 of us in my family - not sure it is worth an extra £100 to go to London in August.

hi, if I choose London aquarium will I not be eligible for the 11% of cash back (I saw it in the conditions of topcashback)? Could I get cash back if I chose the delivery by post ?

I just went onto the blackpool tower website and on there the premium annual pass comes up as £436 in total for a family of 4 of us for the premium annual pass.
On the Merlin website the annual price for the premium pass is £516

Both same levels of passes why would the pass be cheaper on the Blackpool website?

I think your looking at the standard Merlin pass on the blackpool tower website - certainly on my screen I'm seeing a family of 4 standard Merlin pass as £436, and the premium family pass is showing £516!
I'm really tempted by this. I have Sun tickets for Alton Towers on the 18th so should be able to get the passes for less onsite...
Yep. It should work out around 85ish PP from the normally whopping 169.
Sim - please let me know if that works as I am very tempted to get cheap entry to save on the whopping £516 it will cost for my family's annual passes.

Looks like it's hit and miss. Two people have posted that they didn't check the entry tickets. We went chessington and they wanted to see the tickets to knock the entry off.

I guess the best bet would be to wait until they're busy. Good luck
If you get hold of the £10 tickets, do you have to accompany a premium pass holder or you can go unaccompanied?

We went to Alton Towers today and used the free Sun tickets plus one Clubcard ticket to get premium family tickets for £85.20 each.
Well done Sim. Glad it work out for you the same as it did for me!
I went today with a friend who already has a premium pass. I paid a tenner to get in with one of her "share the fun for £10" vouchers. Bought four premium passes for myself, husband and two children and paid £85 each. VERY pleased.
Does the 12 months start when you order the passes or when you first use them to visit an attraction?
