Three-time Oscar®-nominee Frank Darabont (The Green Mile, The Shawshank Redemption) reunites with horror-master Stephen King to write and direct this chilling adaptation of the author's original short story, The Mist.

Following a violent thunderstorm, artist David Drayton and a small town community come under vicious attack from creatures prowling in a thick and unnatural mist. Local rumors point to an experiment called the 'The Arrowhead Project' conducted at a nearby top-secret military base, but questions as to the origins of the deadly vapor are secondary to the group's overall chances for survival.

I'd spend a little more on getting the Region 1 with extra's and the black and white version.

It's an awesome film.

Absolutely agree... my favourite of last year...

Great film and loved the book, have just ordered ! heat added

great movie,

I picked up the much better R1 version a few months back when axel music were doing their free shipping offer.
Got it for about £5 and paid using paypal.

Very good film... Brilliant Ending! Definately worth watching.

I bought this a while ago and never got 'round to watching it. The lack of any big names put me off but reading the above comments has persuaded me to watch it tonight. Let's hope it can make up for my dissapointment of 'What Lies Beneath' which I watched last night.

And.... What did you think of it then??

I decided to watch 'Glengarry Glen Ross' first as it was recommended. I'll watch it afterward if I'm still in the mood.

Unless you were refering to 'What Lies Beneath' in which case I felt that a horror film with Harrison ford should have been awesome but instead was flat and quite boring throughout.
I have to say though, if I was going to be haunted, I would like to be haunted by her ;-)

got this on bluray, never had the time to see the black n white version yet tho

Well, it's looking good so far. I hoe Toby Jones' character doesn't die but I have a funny feeling...

this film stunk up until the ending, which was one of the best endings i've seen in a film ever.

'Shut up you miserable buzzard' Ha! Crazy bilch!

Oh God! No. NO!

Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy?

And that was my review of the film.

One of the worst films I've ever seen. The acting is attrocious. Stephen King can write any old rubbish and they'll make it into a film. The ending was rubbish as well. Complete waste of time.:x

great film, only 6.49 on] hmv though.

**** ending.....

Or alternatively people can buy the 2 disc R2 version for a few quid more ...

- its exactly the same as the R1 version you mentioned. I thought this film was superb - the most enjoyable I've seen in ages. Aside from about 10 minutes or so in the middle where the pace slackened, I was gripped throughout.

I was personally sceptical about this film. King to film adaptions have often been abysmal but I found this a lot more thought provoking than the usual cheap scare style of horror film.

I'd personally call this a critique of human nature than an actual horror film. The mist and the monsters merely supply a claustrophobic setting.

Really enjoyed it.

As for the ending, if that chap had engaged his brain there wouldn't have been any problems.
This just in 'bullets go through people.'

That's what I thought he'd do.

I love these well worded and structured reviews of films. :whistling:

I can appreciate that you didn't like the film but surely you've got a bit more in you than 'WORST FILM EVER'?

It had the feel of a ****** horror in terms of acting etc. but was a lot deeper and thought provoking than most which made me actually really enjoy it.

Quite enjoyed the film. Had a half life 2 ish ( ISH ) feel about it.

I've also got this on blu-ray and having watched both versions I must admit I do prefer this B&W one. It reminds me of those trashy horrors pics from the 50's and 60's I love so much.
