This seemed a good deal, better than the ones Orange/EE could offer me directly despite being one of those perfect customers who leaves upgrading until 2 years after the due date and carries on paying the full subs... (hmm. I know.)

This is a deal for new contracts btw, not an upgrade deal. The upgrade deal was £36.99...

You need to go through Money Supermarket to get the monthly rate from the Mobile Shop.com from what I gather, I can't post a deal url here for the link via Money Supermarket though. I hope it's not naughty posting deals via there? (Have posted this below.)

The phone should be £24.99 upfront, but I used a code for £20 off a Mobile Shop order during February 2015 (MSMVC20) and bagged it for £4.99. I went through Money Supermarket which came up with this deal for unlimited texts and calls and 4gb data for £33.49 pm (shows as £34.99 then EE discounts it by £1.50 pm)

Seems a good deal. I'm ecstastic with the phone. Hope this is useful to someone.

If you know of cheaper, please don't tell me! It took me a lot of searching and headaches to find that one.

The people from the Mobile Shop were really helpful too, which was nice. Next day delivery and despite it being difficult to get in touch with them by phone, they replied to emails very quickly.

Another link moneysupermarket.com/mob…877

Bit tired and full of cold, so apologies for any errors! I can't work out why the first link in the post goes to The Smart Phone Company - maybe part of the same group as The Mobile Phone Shop?

only £780.00 for a phone??? O yer that's superb, wake up you lot, your supposed to be tight gits on here!

Not actually bad at all - just did the maths for a similar about of calls/txts/data on Giffgaff for 24months, plus the current going rate for the Note 4 unlocked, and it came in over £900. Still, contracts are always a risky proposition if you're likely not to get out of the contract immediately at the end.

If you want an S4, it's a good deal.

It's all about getting what you want at the best price, not self-deprivation.

It's actually a really good price over 2 years.

I'm really pleased it's useful for someone. Thanks for updating it with the full cost by the way, and the info re Quidco. Not sure how the Quidco thing would pan out with the discount being a link via Money Supermarket, but it's worth a shot! (I didn't try. It was a long day speaking to Indian call centres and googling, that one.)

It is a lot of money, but it's a useful tool. Unlimited calls too so if you factor in the land line rental you might save over two years if you wanted to go down that route.

I'm not feeling guilty. I'm chuffed to bits that I can draw knobs on photos with my fancy pen, now.

It's a shame that the £20 discount doesn't work - might be worth giving them a call as the site I found it on said it was valid throughout February 2015.

Is it still a good deal without the code? Is the code not working today why it's been expired?

Just ordered one for myself. The code didn't work, but went through Quidco. So hopefully have £30 back

Thanks for the post

It's a shame it got expired, I suppose I could have just deleted the bit off about the voucher and it might've still been a good deal for someone.

Glad it was useful!
