the National Trust for Scotland - 6 months free membership when you buy 12

the National Trust for Scotland is offering 6 months free membership when you buy 12 at the moment. Seems to apply to all membership categories.

Only available at NTS venues and NOT ONLINE. When I joined today the lady found an email from Head Office giving details of the deal! This for some reason is not advertised, but is a genuine offer.

So for a joint membership, direct debit cost £54, which is £1.50 per month each...

Will also give access to other UK National Trusts, but not the free parking outside Scotland.

Sorry - whoever added the voucher - this is for the National Trust not National Trust for Scotland!

Thanks for this, don't quite understand the pricing though I'm afraid. If you say it's £1.50 per month each that should total - £3 x 12 = £36?

I had a quick look at the website and it gives the price for a family membership (2 adults and their children) as £57 a year after a 25% discount for the first year or £5 a month if paid that way.

Anyway £3 a month would definitely make it more tempting!

vouchers add themselves when you pick the appropriate company/corporation etc.

You must have picked National trust yourself.

I had it as £3 x 18 = £54, as you get 18 months membership!

I get you now, sorry! Was thinking is was buy 12 and 6 months of it are free. Great deal, thanks

This is a great deal - But i'm just a bit confused about the pricing of the whole thing on the website in general. Me and the missus are under 25. So for a years/18 months membership it would cost? 18 quid? 18 quid a month?

On the website, the full membership would normally cost you two £18 each a year for being under 25. For your first year the website gives you a 25% discount so this would be £13.25 a year. If you want to pay this monthly rather than in a lump they will charge you £1.25 a month which works out as £15 a year - so a bit more to pay monthly.

If this deal here is all correct you would get 18 months for £18 as you are getting 6 months free after paying the full price for a year. So a slight saving. But with this deal you can't book online and have to go into a national trust property.

Hope that makes sense! Is a great deal if you're under 25, I'm a few years too old for that now!
