great jacket, I doubt conditions over here will ever be cold enough to warrant wearing it.
I know I couldn't wear mine for very long without sweating my bits off!

Was going to ask whats so special about THIS parka, but the above answered well enough.
Still - bit expensive.

£150 for a coat...you're avin a larf !

You need the Go Outdoors discount card to get it for this price....
£5 a year.

amazing bargain, I posted the same just after you but it got removed so have my heat instead!
Picked one up myself on the way to work this morning, so pleased.

Designed for use on the hills or in the city, The North Face Men's McMurdo Insulated Parka is a classically styled jacket made with a impressive HyVent body, for fully waterproof, windproof and breathable performance, combined with an impressive 550 powered fill made from quality European goose down for extreme warmth.

Designed for the backcountry when low temperatures come as standard, the McMurdo Parka offers protection in the body, arms and hood from gales, from the faux fur trim around the detachable hood, as well as cinchcords and velcro in the waist, cuffs and hem to seal out moisture and dampness.

8 pockets ensure you need not enter your rucksack except when you reach you destination, with glove pockets, water pockets and inner storage areas all holding your essentials at arm's length.

Yeah you can get sommat from primary for a fiver!!! Will it keep you as warm don't think so. Heat

I bought the Yellowband parka for £208 last week which is similar to this, brilliant jacket and will last years.

Slightly gutted to see this one (which is rougly similar but longer) at this price, but its instore only i suppose.

Great deal and a STEAL at this price if your looking for a winter jacket.

Nice coat, I think the fella from Grand Designs wears one. Must be good then. I would like but I don't need.

I agree. It looks nicer than my Timberland one. I wish I had the dosh to buy it

I have had one of these for 6 years now. Last year when it was -15 i could wear it with a T-shirt underneath and I was still toasty. This is a bargain

I'm not sure "as worn by Kevin McCloud" is a good marketing endorsement oO

Good price, but for a down parka, much better to have a proper one .... Canada Goose ... as worn at the real McMurdo Station and standard issue to the US Antarctic Program - but better still "as worn by David Attenborough" on Frozen Planet

No chav NF logo either!

Hopefully I'll be getting one of these tomorrow.

whoever bought this is stupid this wont even keep you warm get a down jacket instead

I think you are the stupid one for
a) making such a constructive comment, you must be a very pleasant person to know.
b) because the coat is "combined with an impressive 550 powered fill made from quality European goose down for extreme warmth". Please get your facts right before making such a prat of yourself.

Lol y nt get a nike abys bomber for £80? Cheaper & looks better imo

A good price for this coat - heat added

Just collected mine, cheers OP

Lol I love how as soon as everyone starts wearing a certain brand it becomes "chavy"

If you like a coat that weighs in just short of Mike Tyson, it's great!

Choice of colours?

what colour did you get?

can't belive they dont have a store in chester..lets face it chester is the base camp for all those middle class trekkers that like to have a cappuccino at the top snowdon and get caught ina white out

Has anyone seen it in dark green?

Only had Black and Fig Green at Gloucester one

This was £140 a few weeks back from Cotswold Outdoor. Not a deal in my view.

good coat, for the money I'd prefer a stone island lightweight.

these were on sale in blacks at full price £279 a few weeks ago. so this is a really good deal.

word of warning they are made VERY big so if ordering i would go for a size down from what you usually wear.

Ahh, the school holidays are here again I see.

Fools and their money..

got a rain mate from morrisons. am now dead.

Great coat, heavy yes, but will protect you from anything the British winter weather could throw at you. I'm usually an XL in North Face stuff, but that was huge, L was fine for me.

I have one of these and wear it about 3 times a year, when I go to winter evening games, my spec is in a draughty section. I paid just under this price and have had it three years, with current wear it should last a lifetime which will make it worth every penny.

Oh and it keeps me lovely and warm but there's no way I could wear it normally as it's just too big and warm.

I got mine from the Loughborough store, again they only had the black or green, and all the small size had gone.

I got the green one, and it must look good on, because even the wife complimented me on how well it looked lol. oO

No nothing penny pinching tight **** bums and their money...

I almost bought this coat a few years ago, but it just felt like too much coat for this country. Two pretty harsh winters later and I'm sorry I didn't!

Is it available at that price now? If not then you're comment is a waste of space. If so, then link please.

I have a north face jacket over 10 years old, worn it every year and looks good as new. If they are the same quality and you're not a fashion victim changing your coat every year it represents good value for money.

These coats are worth every penny. I would never buy another brand after having these.

Great deal!

There's a North Face store at Cheshire Oaks where these are regularly on sale.

I've got two of them, they are ideal for my job covering football matches.
