I was discussing this in a few shops today. I was told it is down to personal pereference, but you can go up a size to increase insulation bulk, or take your normal size for a more fitted size to reduce wind shear. After trying on many styles and sizes I decided on this jaket in the same size I normaly take (Medium) since the arms hang right and I still have room for a sweater underneath. Hope this helps.

So tell us oh wise one, what should us non chavs wear when we go hiking or mountain climbing if I cant buy The North Face because it makes me a chav.

Yep, March was a good month for bargains at Blacks, I got quite a few back then.

Nice find, ordered for hubby, thanks

Picked one of these up at TK Max for £45.00 last week

Bought one of these last year at full price, really really warm, only downside is I find the zip a bit tricky to get on with, which isn't ideal when it starts pouring down! Once it's done up though it's brilliant, and just remove the lining in the summer for a lightweight waterproof.

That's good coming from a "cheap skate" who couldn't afford a few screws for his PC.

In which town?

Great find OP - is exactly what I was looking for with the colder days upon us.

Heat added of course!

Bought the same jacket myself last Winder from Gaynors (£85). The fleece is a bit poor but you can easily change that. It's definitely warm enough for 3 seasons hiking though and is very waterproof. Most of the chavs round our way only wear the NF 'puffa' jackets, not these. Waterproofs never really look cool around town!

Thanks, just bought one! I need a warm jacket!

Excellent deal, just worked for me, plus used Quidco to get an extra cash back, that's if it works.

You mean fleece ? As I understand this is just lightweight waterproof + fleece, there is no removable lining ?

Great price, I have one of these and one of the McMurdo ones as well for proper winter conditions

Fleece is a zip-in so counted as a liner, stop being so pedantic..

Damn, I bought one of these a few weeks back for £99.99 from White&Bishop, oh well.. Ended up getting a nice navy blue one from W&B for less than millets though so worth shopping around if you want other than black/grey.. Initially bought it from Millets/Blacks as about a month ago they were on special and you could get the decent colours for £107.. Millets cancelled my order after pre-authorising my card as they didn't actually have stock and then took a week to get money back into my account so I could purchase elsewhere.. Might need to check out my local TKMax though as I love the jacket and would get one in another colour at that price..

For the guy asking about sizes, a lot of reviews say buy a size bigger than you would normally get and I found this to be the case. I went into Millets near me to try before I bought and the L was tight around the shoulders and a little short on the arms. I am a lanky **** though so it depends on your build. XL definitely gives me a bit more room to move though.

Great jacket, great price, well spotted OP..

possible 6% Quidco. Many thanks to OP for this find, ordered one.

Not pedantic I hoped it had some sort of lining too, so you could wear it on the days like this one without the fleece. Probably need a different NF jacket.

ordered, thanks for the post
