I watched a few webisodes last night called the Office (accountants) - they were quite good.

7.5% Quidco

I can't get into this one, guess it's because the UK version is original and US one doesn't seem to "fit" what I'm used too.

Good price though :santa: Thanks for this :santa:

yeah, just ordered this too, its £4.62 delivered.

7.5% quidco has tracked - 37p off.

For those fans of the UK office who mybe tried watching the first episode or 2 of the US version, or maybe just didn't watch any and don't think it will be up to much...

The first series is awful, it's more one long pilot copying the original, badly. But from the second series onwards it is brilliant - don't give up on it based on what you have seen if it was first series (6 episodes) - there's been over 30 more quality episodes since then!

Seriously, I never thought I could like it anywhere near as much as the original, and I never thought I would say this but... it is ALMOST as good, but in a different way - it's found its own identity.

So give it a chance!

Thanks for the info johndhuk Welcome to the HUKD forums!

Thanks for that johndhuk and Welcome to HotUKDeals by the way :santa: You've persuaded me to give it another go when I know it's on TV :santa:

Thanks adamuk82. :santa:

The early episodes are based on the Uk series, and I found myself constantly comparing the two. Later on the scripts are new, and it gets a lot better IMHO. Not sure which series the new ones start in though.

I have all these, first series just pure copy of the UK version. It gets better on 2nd version, but it was very disapointing at the start seeing it just exactly the same.

I'll probably skip this first series then and go straight for the different scripts Thanks for all the info guys ;-) Appreciate it :santa:

I absolutely agree - whilst I was watching the first series, all I could think of was how the original did that scene better.
But I stuck with it, and absolutely loved the second and third series.

I liked the first series, but you have to stop comparing it to the UK version and try watch it as a standalone (I can't remember the first series being a direct copy, more just having a few similarities)....and absolutely love the second series just airing on ITV2.

I agree that it seems to have created its own identity now. It's still both cringworthy and hillarious at the same time. I love it just as much as the UK version, because they are both different, and worthy in their own ways.

Nice find, been looking for these on DVD.

gotta agree with others here. 2nd series on, it just gets better and better. It's not focused as much on the 4 main characters and they have fleshed the others out so much better than they did in the UK series.

The "Bring your daughter to work" episode from the 2nd series where the big black guys 14 year old daughter kept flirting with the temp was one of the funniest things I've ever seen.

Not as good as the UK office but 10 times better than most of the dross thats on TV now. Unforunitely I (like many others I guess) have to torrent them on a friday morning since the odd episode at midnight on ITV2 isn't really enough.

hi btw, got a link to this forum a few weeks ago and its already saved me a bundle on xmas shopping! :santa:

Only the first episode is a direct copy, the other 5 of season 1 are originals.

However I do agree that season 2 and 3 are better than season 1. I actually think it's better than the British one, they're both excellent but the British one concentrated more on cringing comedy whereas the officer manager in the US one is a somewhat more sympathetic character. I prefer the latter.
