Seems like a good price for the digital download. Heard it's meant to be a decent game.

Great game
Awful game
good game, pretty, very short, no replay value.

Probably the best 6/10 game I've ever played.

It's stuffed with flaws, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy my time with it.
Excellent game based on storyline. More interactive movie than game but brilliant visuals and gameplay. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I've gotta say...
The graphics and environment on this game are stunning... they blew me away when I bought it at release, and they're still gorgeous today.

It's a terrible game though. It's not worth buying digitally, you'd be better buying for a fiver 2nd hand on disc and then giving to charity. It's short, dull, incredibly linear and chock full of naff QTE.

Not a fan.
It's a great game if you like this sort of thing, which I do. If you don't, then that's fine. But that doesn't make it cr@p because it's not your cup of tea. It's a 7 hour, story driven game that is slightly heavy on QTE's in places, but hey, that didn't spoil my enjoyment, I loved it.
The thing that really bugged me about the reviews when this game came out though was that it was "short", and this was it's major complaint. It's around 7-10 hours depending on your play style. I completed the first Uncharted in 6 and the second was around 9, never got mentioned they were short.
It is what it is, and what it is I thoroughly enjoyed.

That being said, you can buy this physical for around the same price.

Damn, you've sparked my interest with this post.

My impression was that the game looks phenomenal but offers very little gameplay wise.
Excellent game , I picked it up a long time ago on disc at around £9.99 , this game got a lot of hate due to the delays on the release date and was a disappointment to people at full price....but at his price it is a great game...well worth picking up .
I want this but I know as soon as I do it will be free the next month.
Either this or Hellblade are the only games that have really blown me away graphics wise. That being said, this game needed multiplayer. Something like Gears of War: team-based, cover gameplay. Story's good, but like others have said, it's so short.

You're right in that what some people enjoy, others won't...

I'd dispute that the same playing style can complete the original Uncharted in 6 hours, yet this would taken 7-10...

Uncharted can be too linear at times, but at least there's the illusion of choice. The Order is one of the most linear games I've ever played. Also, Uncharted came out in 2007, and this came out in 2015. That only matters in the sense that games have moved on. If the original Uncharted was a huge leap forwards in graphics and some elements of gameplay, the same can't be said of this game. The graphics are stunning, but not the leap from the norm that Uncharted was... and as said... Uncharted has more to it than the Order, IMO. If you put Uncharted on easy, legged it through the story without touching any trophies or doing any exploring, yeah, you could probably do it in 8. The only way to elongate The Order would be to stand around doing nothing.

Haha I know its a running joke and I haven't really been screwed ever too much with ps+ and gold but the few times it has happened has taught me to wait to buy things unless its a steal!
One of my favourite games. Brilliant cinematic gaming experience. I just hope there will be a sequel.

Looking unlikely unfortunately.

Sony own the IP but did not order another game from Ready at Dawn, the developer.

Although Sony are perfectly entitled to develop further games, Ready at Dawn used their own tech to build the original which they hold the rights to, so unless they go back to Ready at Dawn any subsequent titles are not going to be built in the same engine.
It's a good game, with tight mechanics and superb graphics, yes it's very short, and also very linear, but neither of those flaws make it an awful game. It's also a very easy platinum if you're into trophies.

Amen to that!!
Looks great, sounds great, but honestly found this pretty painful to play, it was so boring.
This could have had a multiplayer that rivalled Gears of War.... if only...

I don't dispute anything you've said there in terms of the times have changed, I understand what you're saying completely. I notice your post was directly above mine which may have appeared I was in a sense replying to that, which I genuinely wasn't. I was just airing my opinion on how I felt about the game.
A friend of mine loathed this game, but he also hates anything like Heavy Rain and Beyond, both of which I enjoyed. They're just their own genres in a highly diverse gaming world.
I love the Gothic, streampunk setting of The Order 1886. But, If this was the same game in a futuristic utopia....probably not as much so.
I do respect everything you've said there though

Yea I got Metal Gear Solid V for £8 two weeks before it ended on ps+.
I got it on the US ps store for $4 & it's been that price a few times now. Worth keeping an eye out if you have a US account.
An easy, enjoyable and gorgeous looking game. The criticism is fair in that the game is so short and more a reflection of people’s disappointment over what the game could have been! The 6/10 comment above is fair, for that reason.

Reviews are based on the game being £40 at release however. At this price, it’s easy to recommend the game
Also now on US flash sale today. Good game but as others have said, very short. Be warned if you think games like Unchartered are far too linear then you will hate this, ie too many doors that go nowhere.
Just finished it. Guiltily quite enjoyed the linear guided story. Made it easy to just play without having to think too much. Like others have said, it looks pretty, some of the gun fighting is very rewarding. But some cool guns that you barely get to use and underused Vampire/Werewolf dynamics. Fighting the Werewolves pretty much reduced to a few quick time events. Can’t complain for £8 though!
