Explore The Outer Worlds in a new single-player sci-fi RPG. Lost in transit on a colonist ship, you awake decades later as conspiracy threatens to destroy the corporate-run Halcyon colony.

Now you are the unplanned variable.

As you explore settlements and space stations, you’ll encounter vying factions and alien monsters. But it’s the character you become that will determine how the story unfolds. Your choices shape your story, your character build, companion stories and end game scenarios.

A hero is made by their flaws.

The Outer Worlds tracks your experience and responds to any weak points. Taking a flaw gives you both a debuff and an instant character perk. This optional approach to the game helps build a compelling character.

Lead your companions.

The characters you meet on your travels bring their own unique abilities, missions, motivations, and ideals to your crew. Help them achieve their goals, or turn them to your own ends.

Features:

  • From Obsidian Entertainment and Private Division
  • A new single-player first-person sci-fi RPG
  • Your choices shape your story
  • Explore the farthest reaches of space in corporate-run Halcyon
  • Find your ship and build your crew
  • Take on flaws to shape your character

So you class Argos as a local business? They are a multi-national company.

Ordered for £34.99 yesterday and they wouldn't give me a refund of the difference. Used to never have a problem doing that. Their support is going downhill. Especially silly as I can just cancel/return the 1st one and re-do the order for the new price.

They tend to charge you £3.99 for a return now too which has resulted in me keeping things like phone cases that turned up and were tat.

If you select "quality not adequate" instead of "not wanted" you can return for free instead of paying. A little loophole I've noticed

I thought it was hit and miss depending on cost and whether it was Amazon or a third party fulfilled - I’ll definitely try this. Thank you!

There not exactly a local business but they do hire local people and allow those staff a proper toilet break unlike Amazon where their staff needs to be Olympic sprinters to get to the toilets in time

Hear hear... Support Argos for supporting the industry. Not CEX for supporting their own bottom line.

Jeff Bezos didn't become the world's richest person by giving refunds !
Been tempted to get this, seems to be tumbling in price in the same way Fallout 76 did (because it was rubbish). Any good?

Its got good reviews both from critics and users. I played it for free on game pass only got to the 1st town so not very far but I have found it really boring so far. It feels very much like fallout 3 and it looks like it's going to be one of those go to town talk to someone then run errands for them until you find a new person to run errands for type of games. I'm going to give it another go this weekend. Also I didn't like the character creation. You have to spend a lot of points in stats and abilities but it's quite confusing and it's hard to know what will benefit you in the game. However you can pay to reset your stats if it's not working out for you but the costs go up every time you do it. Also I'm playing on hard and the enemies I came across seemed to be able to take alot of bullets before dying. We are talking 3 head shots. So there wasn't much point going for head shots.

Some of them make it more interesting though. Interesting events, good dialogue etc. Witcher 3 for example. This seems very bare bones. But like I said I haven't given it much of a chance yet.

Ooft that bloody Amazon ! need to really watch them, Paid £34.99 on cyber monday for that game, started noticing their lightening deals are mostly bull, They really hike prices and some always stay high and continually cycle their lightening deals so you think you have a bargain but its actually just their normal retail price ! and free delivery on prime is also questionable as half the time the same item is on ebay from same seller at a lower price

Started playing it on gamepass yesterday. Played for about 6 hours...got me to level 10. So far I'm really liking it. The other person didn't sound too keen...yet likened it to fallout 3. And it definitely reminds me of fallout 3 (mixed with a little mass effect as companions play a bigger part in this than they ever did in fallout 3)- which really isn't a negative if you know fallout games. It's nice looking, well written (plenty of dialog options), and I actually find the leveling up and investing skill points is pretty simple and clearly explained. I'm playing on normal, there's no bullet sponges for me - if anything it's a bit too easy.
The only negative I have against it so far is the destination icons can get a little confusing.

Basically if you enjoyed fallout 3's gameplay loop (yes, you're going to be talking to a lot, doing side quests and collecting a lot - that's the nature of wrpgs), but want something that's more polished than fallout 76, you can't really go too wrong here.

Those are my opinions on 6 or so hours anyway.

I think it's very good. Not really had the time to play it as much as I would have liked but it is enjoyable. There is a lot of dialogue but it is entertaining. I think the towns and planets you explore look amazing. The enemies are a bit repetitive and can be hard to damage until you get used to the combat system and start upgrading or modifying your weapons.

Yes that is also an option. Thanks for highlighting.
I'm in the 'found it boring' camp but a lot of my friends loved it. Seems to be a bit marmite, so if you've got an Xbox definitely try it on Gamepass first. I thought it just felt like Tesco Value Fallout.
I completed this the other day. Absolutely loved it, but was saddened by some of the endings I got for my companions. I chose to go back and do a few quests to give them a happier ending!

It's not a bad game. Has some Interesting parts but any more than 1 play though is a chore. I ended up doing about 3 and a half to get all achievements.. Probably wouldn't touch it again for a long time. It's not a bad game, but not memorable like fallout 3. I'd say get game pass for a month and play it. Personally imo I don't think it's worth £30. Not when nowadays you can get Fallout 3 GOTY edition for less than a tenner. Easy enough achievements/trophies if your into that.
Great game a lot of fun
Of course... bloody paid £35 in vouchers about a week ago for this and it goes down by a fiver...
This will be sub £20 early next year and prob sub £10 by April
Is it me who can’t aim or is there something up with the game mechanics? I seem to spray bullets around like I’m trying to get a high pressure hose under control
Great game but its on xbox game pass so better getting that. You can get it for £50 for 12 months including live.

Argos ain't a local business. Plus I live too far away from "Argoose" so I'd rather stay home, warm, away from lots of people and get it delivered from as local a business as them

It's a fact that amazon treat there staff like slaves and what does it say about a employer when you are having the ambulance service attending serious incidents nearly weekly at there work camp fulfillment centres where people are collapsing and women losing babies. By the way my friend used to work at Doncaster fulfillment work camp centre and has told me the storys from the house of horror's.
