Agreed, I have the preference for physical copies, and own a PS4. However the key determinant for owning physical copies for me at least, is price (ability to trade in and recoup expenditure in the future). Sony needs to draw some experience from the huge success of Gamepass, which for me is a phenomenonal business model that qualitatively blows PS Plus out of the water.

Not bad price . But ps plus/now could be so much better they should be offering same game quality as game pass which i have been tempted by but my pc needs a upgrade.
Coming down nicely for PS4 owners
Such a boring game It's a RPG by numbers

I thought it was amazing. Each to their own

And to round off the two extremes I thought it was okay. If you like Fallout you'll probably like it as it's a clone but it's dated because of it. I enjoyed it for what it was but glad I played it on a cheap Game Pass deal.
It’s a great game but I found it quite short and lacked depth. Makes sense considering the game’s budget but I went in expecting Fallout in space and if only really a light version.
it's $20 on the US PSN sale. Easy to nab.

How do you know that gamepass is a 'huge success' ? Commercial success?

With PlayStation being the superior console... I don't think they need to match gamepass, if anything, Microsoft will probably be making a loss all in all, just an attempt at making more console sales
