great price and voted hot,but imho this wasnt a patch on band of brothers! too many filler episodes, the characters werent anywhere near as engaging as band of brothers and even though I was anticipating this for months,in the end it became a total chore to finish it-utterly bored me to tears, but each to their own-its all about opinions.

i agree, got a copy yesterday for a xmas prezzie, called in again for another gift but my branch now sold out, next batch will probably be full price

Almost every episode was the same. Machine guns going off in the dark for 30 minutes, then the next day they look around with some sentimental music. I didnt even finish the series, too boring. The best episode I saw was the one when they are based in australia

very nice deal! I just gave my first vote on hotukdeals! Thanks for sharing.

Wouldn't buy it having seen it on SKY, it's a watch once boxed set. You can watch it, then give it as an Xmas present if you haven't seen it

You were just in it for the breasts.

Ultimately this is Band of Brothers with a bigger budget and a weaker story. It's a very good mini-series and whilst the purist BoB fans will knock it, it's a very worthwhile watch in it's own right imho.

Wasn't a bad series just wasn't a particularly good series, some episodes were just too boring, there was nowhere near enough action in it either, certainly wouldn't watch it again. They could have condensed this down to a decent 3 hr movie.

Got the bluray one. Nowhere near band of brothers. My guess... come january and it will drop to £17ish. ;-)

Aren't we all?

I wonder whether we in the UK like BoB more because we have more of a link with the war in Europe and less of that in the Pacific? For example, we've all been raised on Dads Army and, I guess, most of us had grandparents went through the war. I know the British army that fought in Burma and the far east regard themselves as 'The Forgotten Army' which is a shame. Maybe the Americans have more of an affinity with the Pacific conflict because of Pearl Harbour?

Whatever the reason The Pacific wasn't a patch on Band Of Brothers.

Have to agree with all the comments, BoB is a classic and I have watched a few of the epiosdes from that over and over. Pacific was OK but largely disappointing I thought, not enough action and too much filling IMO!

sorry hit expired by error dont know how to unexpire---slaps wrist.

Is this still £19.99 in morrisons?
