Agreed on the 2nd part but I'm not so convinced on this album TBH.

Sure it's a reasonable price but it is a budget album and there are some glaring omissions from a best of album. I think you'll end up wanting more and personally I'd spend an extra couple of quid and get the ]Very Best Of The Pogues

Just my opinion of course but can you really have a best of without............
Irish Rover
Fairytale Of New York - Pogues & Kirsty MacColl
Sick Bed Of Cuchulainn
If I Should Fall From The Grace Of God
Old Main Drag
Waltzing Matilda

I think not ?! ;-):)

This is a bargain basement compilation and probably woth no more than the price. Pogues did some great music but its not well represented by this compilation.

great price. ordered

hi hotto, fair point I didnt realise you were a fan too
Best Pogues album imo is Rum Sodomy & The Lash, been a fan since The Nips and for a punk band had they had some of the best lyrics around
Interesting documentary below if you havent seen if already.
]If i should fall from Grace: The Shane Macgowan Story

Hey flump

Got introduced to The Pogues when working in Swansea back in the middle '80's. Some manic Welshman I knew lent me "Red Roses" & "Rum, Sodomy", told me the bands full name was Gaelic for "Kiss My Ass" and the rest is history as they say.

I don't think they ever bettered "Rum, Sodomy" although McGowan's solo stuff is pretty damned good. I'm pretty sure I've seen the docu but I'll have another look.

Cheers flump !
