Simply one of the best of the first wave of new wave albums. Only one duff track on it. Fantastic production on it, a bit Steve Albini if you know what a mean. This was before sting became a cu…….

Great album, lousy recording...it didn't sound good even in 1978.

I’ve never heard anyone use the phrase “digital warmth” before. I love CDs as much as vinyl if you pick the right ones but generally most would say vinyl is ‘warmer’ sounding. All depends on who has mastered each. The thing with modern vinyl pressings is that they tend to come from the same master as the CD. So often it’s not an easy case of finding out which has been handled better, is it a high quality pressing with no pops, etc or is the CD suffering from dynamic range compression or just generally poor mastering.
