The Revenant
Inspired by true events, The Revenant is an epic story of survival and transformation on the American frontier. While on an expedition into the uncharted wilderness, legendary explorer Hugh Glass (Leonardo DiCaprio) is brutally mauled by a bear, then abandoned by members of his own hunting team. Alone and near death, Glass refuses to succumb. Driven by sheer will and his love for his Native American wife and son, he undertakes a 200-mile odyssey through the vast and untamed West on the trail of the man who betrayed him: John Fitzgerald (Tom Hardy). What begins as a relentless quest for revenge becomes a heroic saga against all odds towards home and redemption. The Revenant is directed, produced and co-written by Alejandro G. Iñárritu.

Kingsman: The Secret Service
A super-secret organisation recruits an unrefined but promising street kid into the agency’s ultra-competitive training program just as a dire global threat emerges from a twisted tech genius. A phenomenal cast, Including Academy Award Winners Colin Firth and Michael Caine and Oscar Nominee Samuel L. Jackson, leads this action-packed spy-thriller directed by Matthew Vaughn (X-Men: First Class and Kick-Ass)

Life of Pi
Embark on the adventure of a lifetime in this visual masterpiece from Oscar Winner Ang Lee, based on the best-selling novel. After a cataclysmic shipwreck, an Indian boy named Pi finds himself stranded on a lifeboat with a ferocious Bengal tiger. Together, they face nature’s majestic grandeur and fury on an epic journey of discovery.

The Maze Runner
In this heart-pounding survival thriller based on the best-selling novel, Thomas (Dylan O’Brien of MTV’s Teen Wolf ) wakes up trapped in a massive, ever-changing maze with a group of boys who have no memory of the outside world. Facing dangerous obstacles at every turn — especially the deadly Grievers that roam the concrete corridors at night — Thomas and the others must race to piece together clues in order to discover their true purpose…and find a way out before it’s too late!

Independence Day
A disparate ensemble of heroes band together to defeat the alien invaders who are bent on exterminating mankind with formidable firepower. On July 2nd, communications systems worldwide are sent into chaos by a strange atmospheric interference. It is soon learned by the military that a number of enormous objects are on a collision course with earth. At first thought to be meteors, they are later revealed to be gigantic spacecraft, piloted by a mysterious alien species. After attempts to communicate with the aliens go nowhere, David Levinson, an ex-scientist turned cable technician, discovers that the aliens are going to attack major points around the globe in less than a day. On July 3rd, the aliens all but obliterate New York, Los Angeles, and Washington. The survivors set out in convoys towards Area 51, a strange government testing ground where it is rumored the military has a captured alien spacecraft of their own. The survivors devise a plan to fight back against the enslaving aliens, and July 4th becomes the day humanity will fight for its freedom. July 4th is their independence day...

Exodus: Gods and Kings
From acclaimed director Ridley Scott (Gladiator, Prometheus) comes Exodus: Gods and Kings, the epic tale of one man’s daring courage to take on the might of an empire. Using state-of-the-art visual effects, this spectacular adventure brings new life to the story of Moses(Christian Bale) as he defies the Pharaoh Ramses (Joel Edgerton), setting 400,000 slaves on a monumental journey of escape from Egypt and its terrifying cycle of deadly plagues.

Wow, this is like half the price it was only a couple of weeks ago! Major bargain. Ordered. Never seen Kingsman and The Revenant and Life of Pi are supposed to be reference 4K blurays. The others are... a bonus I guess!

Great Buy

Cracking price for some cracking movies. Thanks OP

Grr at this place, keep losing money here. Thanks op ordered the set being 4K n this price can’t resist. Investing only to test out my new tv coming in New Years

amazing deal. The revenant looks and sounds amazing at 4k, stay clear from bears.

Does this box set include the films in their original cases?

Yes, it does.

This set is a bargain. I've been enjoying these films over the last week or so and I have to say the quality is very impressive indeed.

I looked into buying this earlier in the year, when they had it at £19.99. I was going to bite but it started rapidly rising before I did.
Just a bit of info if it helps, some of the list weren't shot / output in 4k so you don't get the full 4k benefit. From memory at the time, some are just upscaled unfortunately. See realorfake4k.com to check. Excellent price for the movies alone without 4k so I've taken the plunge anyway, thanks.

Great selection. I even enjoyed Exodus for what it was, thought it was surprisingly creative and barmy.

Great price. There's also the other one with assassin creed, Prometheus, the Martian and kingsman at £24.99

Great deal ordered - got the other 4 disc deal from Zavvi for £26.99.

Probably a dumb question, Do you need a 4K player to play these?

Even though the 6 boxset is much better value, I ordered the 4 film one as imo a better selection of films that I'm likely to watch multiple times

All pants movies

i wouldnt get too excited about whether a uhd is real or fake 4k... its whether its better than a bluray and 9 times outta 10 it is. ive seen life of pi and the picture is stunning. if thats the quality of fake 4k then thats fine by me. kingsman looks good too. it would be more useful to check reviews about the quality of the picture than just looking to see if its true 4k or not.

all gone

No longer available

For those interested, CEX give £25 cash or £36 credit for this. So you can watch it and get your money back, or alternatively trade on towards something else you want!

It all depends on the quality of the upscale. If a film was shot/mastered in 2K, then a Blu-Ray release is going to be more or less the original resolution of the film, but if you're watching it on a 4K TV then either your Blu-Ray player or your TV is going to be doing the upscaling to 4K and, yes, you're right, that's probably not going to be as good as a UHD release, where the 4K upscale is already on the disc, and was done by the studio or a company they hired, who presumably know what they're doing and therefore did a better job than your TV's on-the-fly upscaling algorithm. You'll still get some terrible upscales though, just like you get bad transfers.

I just think it's a shame that there are a lot of films shot/mastered in 2K in recent years that it will just never be possible to get 'proper' 4K versions of, whereas anything from now on is probably going to be shot in 4K or higher, and anything old enough to have been shot on film can be transferred at native 4K (with HDR to boot).

The Revenant is the only decent film here.

life of PI (fake 4k) is clearly superior than the bluray, but as an example, CREED is rubbish compared to the bluray version and suppose to be a proper real 4k. I got it on Sunday, thank you OP
