What if she dies before she gets there? Bye bye £2400.

Then your small investment will turn into a HUGE investment as all the ones unsold will not be sold and you will have an even more limited edition item. Be worth mega bucks if she dies before!
P.S. I am rather fond of the Queen so I hope she doesn't.
The proof gold sovereign 2012 was £495 at release and now sells for £600-£695 so there is money to be made however not so sure with this coin
Thats loads more than the gold is worth. Freezing cold...
What is the scrap value? I suspect it's less than half.
A Platinum One is Only £6400... In all seriousness, do people buy these sorts of things?
This is our Queens jubilee you cold hearted ****. Think of the children.

i will not pay that amount to buy german royal family souvenir . if you want to remember the royal family then i would suggest you buy a toilet seat with the union jack on. .ps they are germans its good to know the real history, they changed there name in the world war, with all the abuse from the natives, they changed.

You don't like German people do you?
Going to have to vote cold. Probably not for the same reasons as most of the others but because the vast majority of coins can be found cheaper at sites other than the Royal Mint.

For example this coin can be found for £2,295.95 here weightoncoin.co.uk/coi…607 which is £104 cheaper. That was just the first (and only) one of the coin dealers I normally use that I tried. Even then, although this coin is cheaper with them, for many (bullion) products they are often one of the more expensive places to buy so I wouldn't rule out finding the coin even cheaper.

Well the name wasn't Hitler, was it now :P The monarchy is a pile of pig carp anyways and should have been long abolished. They do absolutely nothing for the country, other than sponge off the tax payer - while pretending to do good for charitable causes.

If only I could go to a random country in the world, proclaim I am their leader chosen by God, and make a killing sponging off the natives. People would call someone doing that these days a scamster.

Well said mate. I've more respect for beggars on the street than that lot!
At least we get days off work for Queenies Birthday , weddings and jubilees ...................... so it aint all bad oO
Is the 2400 the actual value of the gold of this coin or is it for the design of the item?

I am not a fan of the monarchy, but this just makes me laugh. What a load of rubbish. "Pretending" to do good for charitable causes? Really? I think they do a lot more than pretend.

I would love to see where this country would be without them.....

On another note, I would also love to know if anyone actually buys these coins?! £2,400 is such a lot to lay out, I would buy one if I knew there was a guarantee I would make x% back in so many years but it seems like such a risk!
Boo who!!

They earn this country 10 fold what they take!!

cant be all that bad.

think i will order 10 lol

Only because Diana, the only half decent royal, showed the rest of them up.
I run a company dealing in coins, and we don't recommend most people to buy coins as an investment. If we did, we would not recommend this one at that price. The gold content is around £1300, so the Royal Mint are asking a whopping 80% premium over gold. Our company sells these coins at £2,150 (saving £250 compared with the list price). Even that it still 60% over gold. We have previous gold £5 proof crown issues for sale at 10% to 15% premiums.
